LScola4 I'm on my way to the Toyota Center, this is going to be fun. The good thing is that the TC it´s on the way to the airport, just in case... Its in the middle of the city, the two airports are like 10-15 miles away, its not on the way in any fashion.

ESPN's Chris Broussard is reporting that Blazers guard Brandon Roy is expected to retire due to his degenerative knees. Damn shame.....

It's been just over 24 hours since the trade was vetoed, and if there's one explanation I've yet to hear from any involved party, who was either for this trade or against it, it's how this particular three-team deal was a better offer for the New Orleans Hornets than the following three proposed deals:
(courtesy of BearDogg-X from the previous thread):
If anyone can explain to me how the pu-pu platter of Lamar Odom, Kevin Martin, Luis Scola and Goran Dragic was better than any of those three deals, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Those trades wouldn't have went down as Paul reportedly noted that he wasn't going to sign an extension with the Warriors, and rescinded a possible extension with the Clippers.
Neither team was going to give those players/picks up without Paul signing a four-year deal. Only Boston was okay with a "rental" of one year.

I get that, but Chris Paul doesn't have a no-trade clause. It shouldn't be in New Orleans' best interest to trade Paul to his own personal favorite destination. It should be the job of the Hornets' front office to acquire the best overall amount of talent in exchange for their best player. If Golden State or LAC are willing to trade for Paul despite him being unwilling to sign an extension, then New Orleans should make that move. It shouldn't be their decision to say, "Well, you'd only be getting him for a year, so we're going to wait for a significantly worse trade that sends Chris where he'd be happy." Any of those three proposed deals from the Warriors and Clippers were significantly better hauls for New Orleans than what they would have received from the Lakers and Rockets.

My point was that GSW and LAC weren't willing to trade without the extension. Those deals were great, but Paul said no extension, then the teams said no trade and by then it was out of NOH's hands.

So i guess the lockout and new agreement didnt change f*** all for basketball, still nothing but a league of players telling teams where they will play for and it's still for the same 5 or 6 teams

The NBA honestly has the worst parity I've ever seen in a professional league. It's pretty much the Lakers, Celtics, Spurs, Heat, (and the Knicks are getting there) and screw everyone else. If you're lucky, you can sneak in with a Dallas or Chicago, but otherwise, you're f***ed.
Even baseball has better parity than this, and MLB is a league where the Yankees, Red Sox, and Phillies dominate everyone else financially.

Also lost in all of this mess - the Bulls still don't have a proper SG.
