Please can someone tell me the attraction of this "man"? I've just watched part of his "show" and find him about as funny as finding out someone had chopped off your genitals.
He swears a lot, talks about sex and makes the most of his speech impediment to sound cheeky. He's also an arrogant loudmouth. Yet he is revered as some kind of comedy genius and brilliant entertainer, and he is paid millions of pounds by TV executives.
Am I missing something? Is he really talented, or is he just, as I suspect, another smug arsehole who got lucky and now thinks he owns the world.
Can someone enlighten me please?

He's not revered. He's rubbish and overpaid. Wibble.

Really? Wow, I know next to nothing about Ross other than one interview I saw him do with Matt Smith. He came off as pretty okay there.

Great comedic timing, fantastic improv and consistent in delivering high-quality one-liners. Plus, an easy character to get into and one in an archetype that very few other comedians have. (Well, successful ones at least.)
I say this as someone who hates talk shows and also hasnt watched tv in several years, so maybe hes gone downhill or something, but I loved the hell out of him growing up.
Heres him being great.

I accept that it might be me not getting his brand of humour, but unlike some other comedians, I can't see how other people would find him funny. He sucks up to celebrities, inserts lewd jokes into every conversation because they seem to amuse him, regardless of the context they're in, and just seems to be very, very arrogant.

On his chatshow he's annoying. He winds them up and takes the piss which is fine but always ends with a really sycophantic 'but seriously I love your work, adore all your films and you're brilliant'. Plus the interview is usually more about Ross than it is the person he's interviewing.
Where I do think he's good though is when he's given some leeway. He always does a great job of hosting the British Comedy Awards and delivers jokes that I think a lot of people in his position would shy away from. He's also a good improviser as well and perfect for live television.

I haven't watched him since he left the BBC, but I always liked him. His interview with Jim Carrey was the best.

I don't find him very funny, but there's something really likeable about him. He's one of few celebrities that I'd like to hang out with.

I honestly can't say I've ever heard Jonathan Ross described as a comedy genius or brilliant entertainer before, especially post Sachsgate. His saving grace really is that he's not quite as irritating as his brother. That's about all.

I've always loved Woss - Mondo Rosso was his peak, for me.

I don't find him very funny, but there's something really likeable about him. He's one of few celebrities that I'd like to hang out with. See I think the opposite, I like the same comics, movies, wrestling as him, have the same hair and sense of style as him. But if I met him, I suspect he'd be a bit of a dick.

I LOVE Jonathan Ross. As a Canadian, it's always hard to explain the appeal to North Americans.

I think Jonathan Ross is great. He seems very down to Earth and is usually very entertaining on his chat show.
