I hate the song about the kid buying shoes for his dead mom. It's a happy holiday, god damn you. For everyone else who hates this song, do a Youtube search for "Patton Oswalt - Christmas Shoes ". Makes me happy the song actually exists in the first place. |

"Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" is a Christmas song that I hate. I guess it is supposed to be funny, but I am not amused.

"Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer" is a Christmas song that I hate. I guess it is supposed to be funny, but I am not amused. Not to keep bringing up Maryland songs, but when I was a kid, I remember hearing a parody of this on the radio about our then-governor. I only remember a few verses, but I think it was actually fairly well done. He'd been laying off state troopers And we begged him, don't do so. But he did it with elation, As he swaggered out the door into the snow. When Hilda found him Christmas morning In Camden Yards, flat on his back He had hoofprints on his forehead, And he lay stiff like a piece of lightrail track. Now, it's not Christmas without paychecks... A full-time job is what we lack. And we just can't help but wonder, Will the Devil keep him, or send him back?! Schaefer got run over by a reindeer Walking from the statehouse Christmas Eve You can say there's no such thing as Santa, But as for us here in Maryland, we believe. So whenever I hear that song, I always end up thinking of the MD version instead.  |

It's a tie for "Do they know it's Christmas" and "Christmas Shoes," as both are overly manipulative tripe designed to try to make us feel guilty or sad or whatever.
And no, it's not going to snow in Africa this Christmas. It's summer in the southern hemisphere, you pricks.
