Wouldn't a Dragon Ball Z mafia game take eleven years to finish? I get the joke there but I'll answer anyway it wouldn't take no longer to finish than any other mafia game. I know the joke its all because of that Frieza/Goku fight taking 20 episodes to complete most DBZ fights don't take that long and if you check out DBZ Abridged or Dragon ball Z Kai that Frieza Fight don't last nearly as long, though DBZ Abridged hasn't gotten to the Goku/Frieza fight yet but I'm sure it'll be over in one or two episodes, I love DBZ abridged its funny. The reason the Goku/Frieza fight lasted so long was because they were trying to keep the anime in line with the Manga so they had to throw in a lot of filler waiting for Akira Toriyama to finish the manga for that part of the story. The manga fights are a lot shorter. Sorry that was the DBZ nerd in me wanting to explain things.

I like a Muppet Mafia idea. That is my favorite idea since Hunger Games.

All I need to do is write the opening scene, format PMs, tweak the roles and such, and wait for Cageking's game to end, and Pokemon Mafia will be fully operational.

I'd be ready for Dragon Ball Z mafia anytime as well but if someone else wanted to host a game after Music Mafia I have no problem waiting to host mine.

Made the changes to the OP.
Wolf Hurricane's Clue Theme is next. Unless he wants to let one of the others games go first again. It's a smaller game (which is about an average size game elsewhere - our forum tends to have larger than average games) Small is a good idea for new hosts.
Also careful with game balance guys! I'd like to eventually run another to show some balance again, otherwise bad habits with hosts will develop, as games tend to mold after the previous ones a bit for new hosts.

If interest stays up, there could be 4-5 more opprotunities before the end of the year.

Just a Question, Are first days usually this slow? Or is it just slow to me because i'm the host? I think they are usually that slow the music mafia doesn't seem any slower or faster than WWE mafia or TV mafia.

Just a Question, Are first days usually this slow? Or is it just slow to me because i'm the host? There is no real info during first day for the most part, so unless someone mistakenly outs themselves (which I've only seen once)... it doesn't really pick up until after the first kill.

One thing my mafia game has 21 roles not 20 though I could settle for 20 if I had to.

I'm looking forward to the Pokemon Mafia most of all.
I just looked at the list on the first page. Also super excited for both of Sawyer's ideas.

Also - It's not called third party, guys. It is called a second mafia, in mafia terminology. A third party is general term for any role that isn't a townie role or a mafia role. So pretty much any non-mafia scum. Just wanted to clear that up, as it has been bothering me a little.

I've come up with a second mafia game I could run which is a smaller game
a Garfield and Friends mafia (I've been watching a lot of Garfield and Friends on Youtube lately)
I got 10 roles for it
Keep me down for the DBZ Mafia as well but add the Garfield mafia
I think a mafia with 10 players might be good for me starting out as a host then to start out with a 21 role mafia.
I'd like to do the Garfield mafia first before the DBZ mafia unless everybody would rather I do the DBZ mafia first.

Stepping away from the boards for a minute. If I'm not back before the conclusion of MCOD's tournament, whoever's after me can go next.

Wouldn't a cult also work as a name? A Cult is a type of 3rd Party Role, yep. Cult groups are usually called Cults though. ~~~~~~~~ Okay Game Balance time! How much scum would you put in a mafia game? Well depending on the amount of players in a game, the amount of scum should be around the 25% range, with the town being on the 75% range. It's another reason why you don't want to give the town too many power roles. The townies should already have the power of numbers in the majority from the beginning. Always. So scum per # of players should be Roughly 25%. (20-35% being a workable range) Here is a list that is purely numbers, that is NOT taking into account any power roles, so balance can be a bit tricky sometimes: Mafia Games should have at least 2 mafia. This means in order to have 25%, games should have no less than 8 players, UNLESS you instead replace the mafia with a SK. Notice in this list I write Scum, and not mafia only, as sometimes a 3rd party role can be worked in instead. For example 5 scum can equal 4 mafia + 1 3rd party role. As the numbers go up, try to include a 3rd party instead of a Large mafia, as Mafia will tend to be too powerful by that point, considering how Game Mods tend to give Mafia power roles quite often for some reason. 8-11 Players Lower => 2 Mafia 10-15 Players => 2-4 Scum 14-20 Players => 3-6 Scum 20-22 Players = 5-7 Scum Also anything with 20+ Players, let me know about in this thread or PM and I'll tell you. Again, this is just a basic guideline, as sometimes certain power roles can change things up. Balance be tricky! You'll also want AT LEAST 1/2 of your Pro-town/Townie Roles to be Vanilla Townies. So if you have 10 pro town, you'll want 5 of those to be Vanilla Townies. I know as hosts we want to give all sorts of Power Roles, but otherwise, it will be a "game of power roles," rather than a game of playing Mafia. Then the strong players end up getting night killed as a result (I think Notorious, could be an example?), leaving only people depending on power roles, rather than strong townie play in trying to actually sniff out scum. Same For Mafia Roles - You Do Not want to have too many Mafia power roles, or else it might overwhelm the Town, in addition to the fact that they can secretly strategize and plan things with each other during the night phase. Neither Town nor Scum should have any big advantage over the other - only the obvious being, Majority for Town and secret Knowledge of who mafia are and communication + Kill that the mafia have over town. Though, as long as your game is not tooo OTT or unbalanced in any direction, the game should be fine! Hope this helps.
