So right now it looks like Isaac will ride the coast of Hispanola and cross Cuba before entering the Gulf Of Mexico. It'll make landfall somewhere, but its forecast track keeps moving further and further to the west, so exactly where it makes landfall remains to be seen.

The further west it moves the nastier it can get. Hispaniola and Cuba usually roughen up storms pretty good due to the mountains. It misses Hispaniola, we're possibly looking at a stronger storm.

Joyce has weakened to a depression and is now post-tropical. It may get close to Bermuda early next week before heading off to the northeast.
Isaac is still forecast to cut across Cuba and enter the Gulf, becoming a hurricane before making landfall on the Florida Panhandle.

Issac's forecast track has shifted further to the west. After striking the Florida Keys and moving into the Gulf, it looks like it'll make landfall anywhere from the Florida Panhandle to Louisiana.

More rain for Florida, ugh. At least business will be slow.

Whats Isaacs history of rainfall? I only ask because it looks like Isaac has potential to hit the gulfport, ms/NOLA area, low lying areas where the storm surge and rainfall could be more damaging than the trop storm/Cat 1 winds the NHC is predicting.
They really should re-evaluate how they catagorize hurricanes.

Is Isaac going to miss Orlando or what?

The forecast track for Isaac continues to move to the west. It now looks like it'll make landfall anywhere from Pensacola, FL/Mobile, AL area to Louisiana sometime on Wednesday.

I hope Isaac won't be as bad as Katrina.

Speaking of which, this Wednesday marks the 7th anniversary of Katrina making landfall.

Well, I haven't been out of power yet in Palm Beach, but it's raining like hell due to the hurricane swooping by. A lot of schools have been closed today, and there have been reported floods all across Palm Beach County roads. I hope everyone who lives near the Gulf is safe.

Isaac's very close to becoming a hurricane, and will likely hit Louisiana sometime Tuesday night.

I hope Isaac won't be as bad as Katrina. It won't even be close. I remember having the day off when Katrina passed over South Florida and it got it's self together pretty quickly. It was a lot nastier than what we got from Isaac. I doubt Isaac gets itself together to be anything more than a lower Category 1 hurricane.

Tropical Storm Isaac just became Hurricane Isaac, and is en-route to the Louisiana-Mississippi coast, per MSN.
Damn. All of you in the area, please stay safe.

Isaac made landfall last night. Rainfall amounts are expected to reach 24 inches along the Gulf coast. Over half a million people are without power in Louisiana. And here's Tropical Storm Kirk. Fortunately Kirk isn't expected to be a threat to anyone.

Hearing an additional 15+ inches of rain could fall in areas that have already received close to a foot. (per Weather Channel)

Kirk, still out in the middle of the Atlantic, is now a hurricane. And here's Tropical Depression #12, which is expected to become Tropical Storm Leslie within the next 24 hours.

At least here in the Houma area(where the eye of Isaac passed over for most of the morning yesterday), we didn't get hit that badly compared to New Orleans, the Mississippi Gulf Coast, Grand Isle, Plaquemines Parish, and the Florida Parishes. We were lucky again.
I got power back at around 9:30am this morning and just got cable/internet back about 25 minutes ago.
Only had a few small tree branches down and a couple pieces of tin from an old garage.
Storm was more annoying than anything, because as soon as it made one landfall, it stalled out, then it would move a little bit, then stall again, move a bit, and stall yet again.
