My drivers ed teacher told me that parallel parking was a very important skill. I have never parallel parked once since I got my license. You don't park on city streets much, do you?

Math in general. I have only ever had to use basic adding and subtracting since leaving graduating high school. Really? How do you balance of checkpoint/money? I do use a calculator, but for the easy basics I can simply do it in my head/piece of scrap paper. I haven't had to deal with that yet. My folks own my apartment and forward me money do to having no job

The way atoms bond in chemistry.
Over and over and over again. And apparently the last way I learned it, at AS level, was STILL A LIE

The following examples would probably not be best defined as 'lies,' but as inappropriate indoctrination attempts. My seventh grade science teacher came close to flat out saying that evolution was a sham, which had a negative impact on me as I viewed teachers as authorities and accepted what she said. She treated it as a sham and spoke of it in a condescending way and it influenced how I felt about it until I had better education in college. I had another teacher in eighth grade who taught Georgia Studies. He taught me that Muhammad Ali was Un-American and that Jane Fonda and a former President from Georgia were horrible people. However you feel about these figures, it was inappropriate to their position as educators to offer their own social views as authority.
Edit: Sorry, I had to add this as I just thought of it. I never liked the practice of students grading other student's assignments. You know; the teacher would tell you to switch papers with a neighbor and then the teacher would read out the correct answers as you marked someone else's paper. Now I understand that it was probably the teacher just being lazy, saving them from having to grade 30 to 100 papers (depending on how many classes the teacher had). I always thought my grades should be private. I was smart, but I could see it being very embarrassing for a student who struggled in school to have another student seeing how well they did on an assignment.

Pyramids were built by Slaves. For some reason, I read this as "Pyramids were built by Steve."

Circa 1990: "We will switch to the metric system in 5-10 years." It is now 2012 and the United States still hasn't switched to the metric system.

I'm pretty sure I also remarked, "That's stupid, why would we do that now?," which didn't sit well with the teacher. What can I say, I was 8.

I remember my teachers saying that the metric system made more sense and was easier to work with, but that we (Americans) were so used to the standard system that we would not switch to the metric system. I am not sure if it is true, but I believe I was taught in school that President Carter tried to switch the U.S. to the metric system.

So the basic math skills are basically pointless when it comes to that for some people.

Pluto was a planet.
The Wild West was like what we saw in the John Wayne movies.
