Suicidal Tendencies remade an entire album.
Testament also put out an entire album with nothing updated re-recorded versions of older songs.
Heck, Megadeth pretty much redid their entire discography when they put out the remixed/remastered versions.

I don't know if this counts, but Temple of the Dog's 'Times of trouble' and Pearl Jam's 'Footsteps'.

Ace Of Base sort of Remade one of their songs
They were originally meant to do the title song to "Goldeneye" but their label pulled it and they redid it as "The Juvernile"

Most of the ones that came in mind have already been mentioned, except for this one:
It's a different arrangement of the known version they recorded for a BBC session in 1977. They would soon perform it as the opening song in their live sets from the late '70s to the early '80s.

The Beatles had two different versions of "Love Me Do". The original single version with Ringo on the drums, then the version on the "Please Please Me" album with Andy White on drums that wound up becoming the standard version of the song.

Tool re-arranged their song "Pushit" (track 11 on Aenima, it kinda sorta has a curse in the title as you can see) for live shows. The second half of the song is mostly the same as the album version, but the first half is very subdued and more emotional than the "angrier" album version. Both halves are bridged by a tabla drum solo by Aloke Dutta. It's on their Salival disc.

Gene Simmons redid "See You In Your Dreams" for his 1978 KISS solo album. The song was originally on the KISS album Rock and Roll Over in 1976.

Kate Bush's "Wuthering Heights" is a good example:
The big difference is that the first version was made when she was 19, and quite frankly, she kinda sounded her age at the time. The second version was made 8 years later, and her voice matured greatly from when she first recorded her song. It's the first version that's most famous though, as it hit #1 on the UK Charts in 1978.

Cypress Hill with 'Rock/Rap Superstar' Rock Superstar was just a remix of Rap Superstar with one word changed. The two songs cam out at the same time, so Rap Superstar would get airplay on hip-hop stations, and Rock Superstar would get airplay on rock stations, which were in the peak of the rap metal fad.

Balzac does this a ton.
Weirdly, I didn't like it at first, but now I sorta like the different tones/takes on some of the songs. Some more raw, some more mellow, etc.
