Yeah, what happened with that character? Besides Columbine, that is. Russo happened. Berlyn was one of the last acts to debut under the prior regime, and Russo didn't seem to have the same level of interest in Berlyn or Alex Wright than whoever was running WCW before him (Sullivan?). What happened is that his first major feud was with Buff Bagwell. Alex was booked to go over at the PPV, but Buff refused to job to him and no-showed the PPV over it. They booked Hacksaw Jim Duggan as the last minute replacement, and he proceeded to make Alex look like an ineffective goof, no-selling all of Berlyn's offense and stumbling around like a moron.

Steel was the only one i never heard of.
and put me on team Glacier- i liked the gimmick and thought the guy would end up being a solid upper midcarder and contender for the US Title. i was VERY upset when Buff Bagwell of all people ended his undefeated gimmick (i guess they needed it available for Goldberg's imminent push) and was actually excited when Goldberg/Glacier I took place expecting a tough mtahc. then Goldberg did his usual squash (matches 2-7 or so didn;t do much better for team Glacier).
i do recall hearing somewhere that his enterance was too expensive for them to do every week so they slowly cut back on it until he was pretty much just left with the music and pushing him down the card meant no one would care if it did get cut because he was barely a cut above jobberdom by the end.

"Kwee-Wee" Alan Funk was quite a good brawler as I remember, and Alex Wright could go against anyone in today's WWE roster. This list is amusing but flawed and less than comprehensive.

I only know PG13 was in WCW because I have been watching episodes of 99/2000 WCW on Youtube.

why are y'all suggesting Ice Train? he was there for like 8 years or so, and had something to do at times (other times, he just disappeared for a long time), like the Fire & Ice team with Norton or being M.I. Smooth

Yeah, but it was clear that Russo wanted nothing to do with the character. If he had, Berlyn's first official act under the Russo era would not have been jobbing to Brad Armstrong at the Halloween Havoc PPV. This was then followed up by Berlyn admitting that he was Alex Wright shortly afterwards and the gimmick just died. Contrast that to the previous era, where he was at least allowed to pin the guys that made him look bad.

Wait, people here are saying that Glacier was over? I admit to being a little intrigued about his character for maybe the first 4 months of his vignettes. But by the time he actually debuted, it's pretty safe to say most crowds didn't give a crap anymore.

Where's Jimmy Graffiti? Where's The Gambler?
Also did anyone else think they were basically insinuating Booker T's wife is a man in the Kwee Wee pic? Must be cause she kinda looked like one there....

He shaved the mohawk and the mustache off. He also grew sideburns, which looked really freaking weird. I think my favorite moment of Alex's post-Berlyn career was when he told Disco "Look. I don't like you. NOBODY LIKES YOU."

Let's be fair... this list is for the current casual WWE fan, not people like is who have been obsessed w/ wrestling for decades. Take Lash Leroux... I've seen a lot of people say "How can they include him?" Well... he was a lower card wrestler who's biggest push was in a joke stable during WCWs dying years that hasn't been seen in a decade.

Yeah but my problem is that a lot of the guys on that list are more talented than a lot of the current WWE developmental geeks. Take a look at the WWE roster or the NXT guys. Anyone seriously want to say that Alex Wright wouldn't be preferable? The irony is that WWE did in fact bring in most of those guys with the WCW buyout, and then proceeded to bury all of them, release them, said they couldn't work, etc. To me that is the real travesty of the WCW buyout. I didn't care that WWE didn't want to sign a bunch of overpriced guys that were washed up and couldn't draw anymore. It bothered me that they basically ruined an entire generation of young talent that weren't necessarily ready for big pushes in WCW, but could have been something with careful planning.

Well that list was stupid, considering I knew ALL of those wrestlers, so hardly forgettable. Jeez.

IMO for someone to be "forgettable", you had to have seen them in the first place...how else would you forget them? Anyone who saw WCW at the time surely remembers Glacier. The Colossal Kongs? Not so much maybe.

Why does this board have such a love obsession for Alex Wright?
Someone school me on him.
All I remember of him is a guy in green trunks dancing.

I have PG-13's debut on tape where they attack the Varsity Club with tire caps (and failed too) on Nitro. They wrestled on Thunder that week and I think jobbed to The Dragons. They used the Deadpool's old theme (Take it by ICP), by the way.
