That's awesome news. But I have to admit I was hoping Del Rio would be out there for him. Lol. He's probably going to be the one to induct him anyway.

He's a legend. Deserves it.
He made way for Luchadores in NA.

I'm guessing Mick Foley won't be inducting him.

And now it's front page news on WWE.com. Pretty sweet news.

His induction video better include him eliminating himself from the Royal Rumble

All I know of this guy is him getting a Royal Rumble wrong and f***ing Mick Foley over in a match. Also, all the work I've seen of his has been terrible.
But he seems famous enough, so hell why not.

His induction doesn't surprise me but the timing of the announcement caught me off guard. Sure I thought that they'd talk to him about it while down there and maybe even sign him on to the Hall of Fame, but they've never announced an inductee this early before. Is it just because they wanted him to get the pop in Mexico or is this a new policy?
WWE magazine last month said that the short list for the Hall was out there but nobody really believed them and it sounded like mindless teasing. I wonder if scheduling conflicts and time constraints have finally made WWE plan the Hall much more far in advance like other Hall of Fames do. Last year around this time, Jim Ross said in his blog that he expected Hall of Fame announcements to start by the end of November and December even though they had never been that early before. This is all sounding to me like they've had a meeting and changed the game.
That said, should we expect other announcements over the coming months in specific locations?

If Savage is going in next year, then I disagree with announcing Mascaras first, only because WWE has historically announced the major headliner first ala Austin and Michaels. I do agree with inducting Mil Mascaras, as I have predicted for many years, though I expected it to be done in the American Southwest.
