For everyone complaining that "the new age of Kayfabe" is ruining Twitter, as far as I'm concerned, it's fine payback for the internet ruining Kayfabe. I'd rather have Rosa staying in character on Twitter than Melina saying "oh it's just an act, I'm a real life sweetheart so when you boo me, it hurts".

But no one called for LayCool to be fired, did they? Also, it helps that the hate they got meant heat they got; the difference between apathy and getting over as mean girls. Also, completely agreed with JDviant. If you're following a celeb, especially a wrestler, you can't be that surprised when they tweet in-character. Again, I for one welcome the new era of kayfabe. But what standing does Rosa have in the company other than her job? They can't push her less, fining her probably won't mean much, hence how job loss seems appropriate to me. So firing her seems like the most logical reprimand. Not telling her off, not a pay cut, not "sensitivity training," but kicking her out of the company because she said some mean things about another diva? That doesn't seem a tad like disproportionate retribution to you? Also, kinda bizarre how all of a sudden, people want B A STAR to get involved. I thought we didn't like B A STAR. You know, "PC" and all that. Guess when it's one of your favorites on the other end... |

I get really tired of the "We" and "when one of your favorites" crap. I seriously do. There's no hive mindset here, and proclaiming one doesn't make you the one lone individual in a sea of Malkovichs.
That wasn't just meant for you Wolf, so don't take it as such. I don't even know who AJ is. I just find the whole thing pointless and stupid, no matter who is doing it.

I meant what's the point of keeping her around if she's not going to do anything AND she's gonna pull dumb crap like this? I don't care about the "Be a star" crap, but if they're going to enforce it in certain situations, they should do it here to. |

You know, I never thought of it that way. Eh, maybe I'm reading too much (well, more like 'reading not enough') into it, and this is testament to the difficulty of imparting tone in the written word, but every time I read statements like that, that's how it sounds in my head -- the accuser going theatrically over-the-top and the defender sheepishly saying, in the immortal words of Monsoon, "yeah, so what?" I always assumed that an accusation of hypocrisy that was documented, it was much more serious. |

Rosa has a storyline link to Beth Phoenix (she was Phoenix's stalker when debuting if anyone still remembers/cares) so I read these tweets as her pushing for Beth's anti-Barbie campaign going into the title match at NoC. And also Rosa is clearly lobbying to get herself into a feud with AJ on the back of the reinvigorated Diva's division. I'd say instead of AJ jobbing to Nattie on a weekly basis, her getting wins over Rosa Mendes' 'Mean Girls' act would be a better program for all involved. Plus, Rosa is TOO DAMN HOT to not be on my tv for months.
