God, while I agree with a couple items on the list, it's so painful when the WWE does this kind of stuff. It's always incredibly forced. Agreed. While it is a big time event, it'll never be as big as the Super Bowl. Like someone mentioned above, you never hear anyone else claim "This is the Wrestlemania of ________", unless it's a wrestling company. And if they're so hell bent about being strictly "entertainment", why do they keep comparing themselves to a legit sport?

God, while I agree with a couple items on the list, it's so painful when the WWE does this kind of stuff. It's always incredibly forced. Basically. It's amazing how such a hugely successful company known the world-over that's killed every bit of its competition can be so damn insecure. Vince has got to be the most childishly immature corporate genius in existence.

But, to be the man to rain on WWE's parade, the Super Bowl is free on television.
Wrestlemania is 60 bucks.
Just that one notion should makes the rest of the list void.

I believe in "real life" Costas is pretty close with the WWE crowd. This is a kayfabe rib.

They're gonna try to convince Americans that Wrestlemania is better than the SuperBowl? I can watch the SuperBowl for free. That ends the debate right there.
Also, what's with the attack on Bob Costas? That's not nice WWE.

Didn't this list happen before? I could have swore they did it before.

Somebody's jealous. It makes sense, whenever WWE has to take a backseat to something more successful they always take the highroad For non-North American fans, the NFL dominated the ratings last season, Sunday Night Football was the highest rated program on all of television and Monday Night Football was the highest rated program on cable by a longshot. The NFL has been the top sport in the US for a while, but it's tv ratings have never been what they were last year. It probably has alot to do with the rising popularity of fantasy leagues.

They'll act like the NFL is somehow competition, yet they refuse to acknowledge UFC as competition.

Methinks Vince still has a grudge over the XFL.

They'll act like the NFL is somehow competition, yet they refuse to acknowledge UFC as competition. Which is funny because there's a few videos on YouTube where WWE is promoting a UFC PPV.

They'll act like the NFL is somehow competition, yet they refuse to acknowledge UFC as competition. Monday Night Football goes head to head with Raw, does UFC have a show against Raw? Also aren't UFC PPVs on Saturdays? So they never go head to head.

I'm surprised at how many people don't know who Bob Costas is. I'm not even much of a sports fan and I know who he is.

From a personal standpoint Pro Wrestling > American Football.
But let's be realistic here, while WM is the biggest event in pro wrestling, it's pretty far off the radar when compared to most other televised happenings.

I will admit this, EVERY wrestlemania exists on tape (maybe not the dark matches, but the ppvs themselves do). The first two superbowls OTOH dont exist aside from a few clips (though ive heard the NFL IS trying to find as much footage from them as they can).

So winning a WWE Title is more meaningful than a super bowl trophy? It's not like there's one champion each year.
Usos on mania is good?
There can be disqualifications or countouts, like this past years main event. What a crock!
Oh good, we'll get a rematch next month.... and the next.... and the next! Lame.
