Alright, just caught up on the drama involving Korean Zombie Hype Train.
Dude, it's one thing to kill a jobber. That's why they exist. It's another thing to completely job out a full-time member of the roster. I've written probably around a hundred or so matches in my time here. And in every single one, I tried to give every combatant an equal chance to shine.
When I wrote my own matches, I made it a point to give my opponent plenty of offense and even allowed my opponent to write the match if I felt he was better qualified(like Socko's Brother, for instance). But I never wrote my character to be a world beater. Why? Because it wouldn't have been fair.
I don't know if you're consciously aware that you're doing this or not, but it's not cool. If you want, the next time you write your match, I could help you to make it more even. Because you squashing the entire roster is NOT going to work out.

Oh, sorry Bergman I think I prepared the credits list before you had to step in. I'll revise it the first chance I get.

Awesome show. Had that epic feel. I was reading as it was being posted for the first time and it was like watching the football results come in at five o'clock (ask an Englishman...). I shed a little tear for Frank losing the title, it was fun while it lasted, but Socko put a huge amount of effort into promoing and co-writing the match, so well deserved and well done. In terms of the issues of match writing and putting yourself over, my take is that you are taking on a responsibility when you write a match to make both you and your opponent look on equal footing, unless you have agreed to do it another way for storyline purposes. In essence, it should be a co-operative between the match writers and the competitors, so even if neither of the guys in the match are writing it, they still have input from the writer. I admit I don't do as much writing as I should, but if you either don't have the time or don't fancy writing a whole match on your own, why not work with the writer to get your segment across, or even co-write a match? Socko and I have co-written the last two matches between our characters and they've been even, lengthy and varied. One was an out and out brawl, the other a more technical wrestling match, but we both came up with ideas and worked out the finish together. If you're writing, you have a responsibility to you and your opponent so no one gets buried. If you're not writing, suggest ideas to the guys who are so they have some guidance as to how the match can flow. Very well said. I said it to you via PM, but I'll congratulate you again on having a good run with the title, and with luck it won't be your last. Back when I handed the reins of this fed to Viva, one of the things he told me was that Blood was main event. I was surprised to read that; I figured that I could maybe go after the IF title, but that I wasn't ready to challenge for the big one yet. That's the way it shook out though, and after the voting went Frank's way at the APPV I didn't expect to get another shot so soon, and when I did get one I wondered if I'd just end up losing again. So it was a really wonderful surprise to see that this time the voting went my way. Thanks to everybody who voted for Blood, and I'll do my best not to disappoint you. Also, congratulations to Ghost Ant for winning the FA title, to Enigma for retaining, and to everybody who won the right turkeys! And if you're new and ended up with one of the wrong turkeys, don't look at your firing as the end of your run here; on the contrary, think of it as a chance to write a new angle about how you either get your job back, or to debut a new character if you feel like changing gears. As far as the future goes, I was wondering if there should perhaps be a countdown for the people who still have briefcases to cash in before they stop being good. I know it's been less than a year since they were won by Evil M (who later lost his to Brian Alexander) and ViVA, but it seems to me like there should only be one person a time who's able to cash in on each champion.

I agree with the briefcase/turkey thing. I don't really understand how they work to begin with but I know there shouldn't be more than one of them around at any given moment.

I think it's easy enough to expire MitBoB title shots in a year. The old title shots have until Gookermania V to be cashed in.

So since I'm a co-winner of a MitBoB does that mean I don't have to wrestle for the next Niteraw?

You don't have to, no. That said, next Niteraw, all MitBoB winners will find out what's in their turkeys. You and Evil M better cross your fingers...

Some of us weren't so lucky! Yep, but hey, you're what? One defense away from being able to challenge for either the Freakin' Awesome or Interforums titles. If you're brave of course, you could try to go the distance for ten defenses to challenge for the World Heavyweight title. This reminds me of something else I want to try leading up to Niteraw: a Freakin' Awesome rules match every week. I think it would make the belt feel more important if it actually looked like there was a division.

Perhaps at the Battle Bowl, considering the stakes.

Still need to read the show to get all the details, but congrats to all the winners, especially to Socko. He's put a lot of effort into WWCF/FAWA, and his becoming Heavyweight Champ is well deserved.
