Look at us, we're actually questioning who will win this match. We have our ideas, but there is no consensus. That's why Cena won the match at Extreme Rules - it creates uncertainty instead of foregone conclusions.

Once again, the sell of this match is not knowing if Trips or Brock will job.
I was planning on buying this anyway, but after Extreme Rules, if they had made Trips vs. Brock no-DQ I would absolutely have bought it anyway just for that match. The Cena match was brilliant and I loved Brock bringing in his MMA stuff. It reminded me of Joe/Angle at Lockdown.
I just hope they can pull together a decent undercard as well.

I like the idea of Triple H going for these big legendary matches, and failing every time, thinking he's in the top league but is really punching above his weight.

I'm finding it hard to build up any enthusiasm. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Lesnar and the match with Cena was amazing, but the reported details of his deal rather spoils the whole thing.
He hasn't "returned to wrestling", he's making celebrity appearances. It's almost certain that he's going to hit the bricks when his extra-special and insanely expensive contract is up, so it's hard to get excited about anything he might do on his rare visits between now and then.

I can beat the Undertaker/Brock Lesnar!" then get decisively beaten every time. It'd be a great gimmick for him.

Look at us, we're actually questioning who will win this match. We have our ideas, but there is no consensus. That's why Cena won the match at Extreme Rules - it creates uncertainty instead of foregone conclusions. Unpredictability is key in wrestling. You do have to keep people guessing. Very true. However doing what they did isn't the most you could get out of Brock Lesnar. Brock Lesnar in UFC was one of the best heels of all time. Almost too perfect really. He was an outsider coming in arrogantly bragging about how he would win. Then he kept on winning. And with each win an outrage grew. Not just because he was a pro wrestler beating the mma fighters but because he beat them at vunerable times that some would consider unfair. He beat a 40 plus year old man that hadnt of fought in a year who was heavyweight champion possibly because of a lack of depth in that division. He beat a physically broken down frank mir coming off a knee surgery who even came into the octagon with a massive bandage around his knee. He basically got beat by shane carwin but they didnt stop the fight for some reason. The energy that shane had expended caught up to him and brock was able to beat him in the next round. He kept on winning and it angered people so much. The perfect mixture of luck, circumstance and possible favoritism. People just wanted someone...anyone...to kick his arrogant ass. Then just as the heat had built to it's maximium point. He fought an undefeated fighter named Cain Velasquez in anaheim in front of a crowd of cains latin people cheering him on. Cain was considered an underdog going in but Cain hit brock so hard that brock became brockolo shrimp and started breakdancing. People rejoiced. That was the perfect arc of a world champion heel. Except one thing. Brocks first fight. He got beat by Frank Mir. Pro wrestling being pre-detirmined could of avoided that. Pro wrestling could of had Brock beat John Cena. They had the perfect story right in front of them with the same situation except now he's not an mma outsider,he's a pro wrestling outsider. They could of put him against people in similar situations. They literally had an authority figure obviously behind him. Even better, they could of done it longer than was possible in MMA. People would of paid to see Brock Lesnar get beat and been angry everytime he didnt. Then finally when someone did it would of meant something. Instead they sacrifced him to John Cena. I don't truly think it was to be unpredictable. I think it was because they resented Brock for leaving and now that they have him they see more value in having him put over their guys than having him win. I can see why they'd make that call. Brock could take his ball and leave at any point so why not try to get something out of him. Though once again,He did lose his first fight in UFC. Yes it was a stupid call to have it happen in WWE. I mean do you think Dana White if he could of would of had Brock lose that fight? However history proves it can be overcome. He just has to win. I just dont see that happening for the near future. I think he's going to lose to hunter and in a year from now we'll all be posting in a what if topic about brocks return as he stars in breakin 3:brockin in bellator. Hey tough, maybe the amount of dates wouldn't allow that great story to happen. Though I think that's WWE's fault more than anything. You dont hire a guy and try not to get the most out of him. I look forward to him coming back though. He's one of the best heels i've ever seen and if he was used right could probably make wrestling more hot than its been in a while. I'm sure no matter what that the match between hhh and lesnar will be good.

I'm more apprehensive of the outcome than I am excited for the match.
