Tell you what, Nintendo. I just sold my 3DS and if you can sort out the 3D effect to where it looks 3D in more than one damn angle, make that huge ass screen look better than the 3DS did, and get some 3D movies going (there's certainly enough at this point to warrant it), then I'll consider buying this new handheld.

3DS XL? Sounds like an abnormal beast of a portable system. I'll stick with my DS Lite till I'm given no choice but to upgrade.

Oh, and joy, Nintendo is finally jumping into the DLC business. New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the 3DS will have post-launch levels for the "coin rush" mode that you will have to pay for. Well.....that's.......nice? Good for them? Hope they don't abuse it.

Ok, make that NSMB2 is the first Nintendo game in the West to have paid DLC.

Side by side of the classic 3DS and the new model. That's a huge bitch! Also definitely means the circle pad add-on won't work with the new model.

What is this circle pad add-on that keeps on getting mentioned? Like it says on the tin, it is an add-on that gives you a second circle pad. Makes certain games easier to control, like Resident Evil: Revelations and Metal Gear Solid 3D: Snake Eater.

The talk that has come out so far suggests that they're only allowing substantial DLC (ie not just extra costumes that should have been in the gamae anyway) but who knows how long they'll stick to that.

Nintendo of Americaþ@NintendoAmerica Nintendo #3DS XL will have a 90% larger screen than the original and be in stores 8/19 for $199.99 US MSRP! #Regginator twitpic.com/9z49kvSo yeah, a little longer till I need to upgrade. Hey, it'll reduce the price of the regular 3DS by about $10-$15, hopefully. That way, I can get a regular 3DS for Christmas.

I can't pre-order this fast enough. I had no idea that was even happening. You have made my day with this link/information, sir.

What I don't understand is if the 3DS XL is being released on the same day as NSMB2, then why the hell don't we get a bundle for that? Release a separate bundle for $20 extra. BAM! Many buys are to be had.

I got the 3DS that I wanted over the previous weekend. I really love it, but to be honest, the Internet browser sucks (I used it yesterday at my pizza parlor to access this forum).
I have to ask this: will there ever be plans to download and save old Nintendo Video films? I really wanted to see the English dub of "Kirby 3D" that was originally released as a WiiWare program for Japanese Wii owners back in 2009.
