So, I finally got in Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon from Gamefly and I've played around with it a bit. So far... It kind of just feels like the first one if it had worse controls, less interesting ghosts, and a tendency to pull you out of the mansion any time you start building any sort of momentum. Enjoying it for what it is and I'm not far in but it feels like a major step down for me to this point. Yeah, I got about 5 levels in before I just stopped. I just want E Gadd to shut up and let me explore the mansion already.

Got A Link Between Worlds yesterday. Very, very, very fun and unorthodox, to say the least.

Got A Link Between Worlds yesterday. Very, very, very fun and unorthodox, to say the least. Everyone knows the main mechanic you get before you embark on the main bulk of the quest, so I don't think spoilers are necessary, but... There was one part where you had to head up toward the waterfalls and the Zora area, and right by the witch's hut, there used to be some land that curved around the mountain and you continue on... Well, in this one, they cut out a chunk of the land to force you to wall-merge, and I was SO hooked on my Link to the Past experience that I couldn't grasp WTF to do. Once it hit me, I felt like a moron, and the whole world opened up for me from then on. Definitely a step in the right direction for Nintendo.

So, Monster Hunter 4 released in Japan last week, and got close to a million and a half in sales.
They love them some Monster Hunter over there.

Link Between Worlds is the best Zelda game in years, and I say that as someone who really isn't all that big on Link to the Past. Definitely a step in the right direction for the series, though I'm not at all hyped for the Wii U one and won't be until it's clear it's more like it or the early 3D games and less like Skyward Sword.
In other news, I've taken the plunge and gotten Golden Sun. Figure if nothing else I won't regret getting it as much as I do Secret of Mana. Really not at all fond of that game.

I have to agree, having finished the game a few days ago. It was very innovative, and I enjoyed that you had a lot of freedom in choosing your adventure (for example, six of the seven Lorule dungeons can be tackled from the beginning), and it gave me quite a lot of challenges. Considering how I stopped playing Skyward Sword (and I lost my Motion Plus adapter in my house... too lazy to find it), I think A Link Between Worlds is one of the best Zelda games ever. Especailly since they could've taken the easy route and just have done a 3D remake of A Link to the Past, but decided to have some fun instead. As for Golden Sun (coming from a fan since 2003), I'm sure you'll like it, or at the very least, be okay with it. It's rather... talky at the beginning of the game, but it will pick itself up once you finish the Sol Sanctum section of the game. You're gonna see first-hand why I want Isaac so badly in Smash Bros. if you make the effort to finish the game.

The game does get better as it goes, but it's still not remotely something I would recommend.

Okay I need to know this. How many of you guys ever got a VHS Tape in the mail back in around 1998 which previews the Jet Force Gemini & Donkey Kong 64 games and also had 3 secrets for Orcarina of Time, Mario Golf, and Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer? I think it was called Hot News 64.

I mean I know Rare made it and pretty much anything they made was epic awesome It depends on your standards. It has a lot of level variety and is fun, but it's also notorious for being regarded as the creator of the Collectathon genre, which they done into overkill with Donkey Kong 64. I'm in the minority when I say that Banjo-Tooie is a better game since they eschewed the level & lives format with a gigantic overworld. And it began with the death of Bottles.
