He can still be a face while being the same character. Just dont ever acknowledge the crowd, and have him antagonise heels. a.k.a. The Rock Method.

I'm for it as long as he doesn't change much and doesn't start overly pandering to the audience.
Even though WWE could do with heels more than faces, it seems much easier to get over as a heel in the WWE so they could easily douche up someone like Alex Riley and elevate him to the midcard to feud with the likes of Zack Ryder rather than having him as a personalityless babyface.

Well, Observer DID say a few weeks ago that they were looking to turn Truth face to market Little Jimmy merchandise, since the whole Little Jimmy bit was getting over like gangbusters. Have they trademarked the phrase "Little Jimmy"?

Face or heel, I just hope this angle doesn't lead to him being fed to Miz. Though I have the sinking feeling that's what's going to happen. Agreed. I'm sick and tired of talented guys having to put Miz over just because WWE is desperate to make people take him seriously. Some guys just can't be main-event badasses. They need to accept this already with Miz.

Better wrestler, sure, but Miz has a lot better presence, is worlds better on the mic, and works his ass off outside of the ring. Those are the things that matter a lot more than in-ring work, and Miz is by no means anything close to terrible there.

Miz is good at everything that doesn't involve wrestling, so logically he was pushed to the top as the WWE champion over others who are better in-ring performers... Too bad his mic work, outside work and presence couldn't convince people that his title run was any good. Glad the WWE woke up and gave the belt to guys who can go in the ring.

However, he sucks at being a threatening badass and main-event wrestler. There's nothing wrong with being a solid, well-pushed midcard talent, but for some reason WWE is desperate to make him more at the expense of others. Miz is a Jeff Jarrett, not a Triple H.

I'm fine with them trying to make Miz a main-eventer, but he's NOT A BADASS, and he never will be.
If they don't want to turn him face, I don't see what's wrong with him having to cheat and steal to stay on top. Yes, he works hard, we get it. But Miz is a guy with no 'natural' advantages, so unless he's a face, hard work doesn't mean dick compared to natural in-born talent.
Either turn him or have him start blatantly cheating more often. He's a Honky Tonk/JBL type. Not an HHH type.

I'd say getting owned by R-Truth in the first place negates and 'badass' character The Miz is trying to be quite easily. He's more of a Y2J heel-- it's believable that he can win some main event matches here and there (even over Cena at Wrestlemania, most notably) but at the same time it's not unexpected for someone like JTG to pin him clean on an episode of Superstars.
On Topic: R-Truth will NEVER stop getting WHAT-ed at live events. I don't see how the WWE will be able to reconcile that with a face character, unless they try to give him Stone Cold's gimmick of 'singing along with' the WHAT's. Which Truth would most likely be able to do, but his promos won't be as crazy and unpredictable anymore... the worst thing is it would probably reinvigorate the WHATs and make them more popular again in 2012, probably the last thing anybody in the IWC wants...
Keep Truth a heel. He hasn't even started yet, he only got one main event singles match for Little Jimmy's sake!

I personally hope Truth remains heel. The reason for him attacking Miz was... well, because the Miz attacked Truth as the way to write him out for his Wellness suspension.
Besides, it's very rare to see heel vs. heel matches that don't end in a face turn for one person, and I'd like to see that.

I still want to see two heels feud over who can be the bigger petty douchebag, to the point where they're pulling Big Bossman-esque acts (interrupting funerals, killing someone's dog and feeding it to them), or TNA Jarrett-esque acts (beating up little kids at a tae kwon do class) to prove it.

If Truth beats the holy hell out of Miz every week like he said he was going to do, he'll be as over as Hogan in 1987 in about a month.
Truth is great.

Those are the things that matter a lot more than in-ring work, and Miz is by no means anything close to terrible there. Those things don't matter "a lot more than in-ring work", that's absurd. If that were true Miz would probably still be champion instead of a midcarder again and Daniel Bryan probably wouldn't be champion. And we'll have to agree to disagree about Miz not being terrible in the ring, because I actually do think he's pretty terrible. On topic though, I'm excited for crazy face R-Truth. It's one of the most genuinely different things I've seen in a long time and I hope they don't get cold feet. He deserves the chance a lot more than some of the other guys who gotten one.

I honestly think with all the heels getting injured (Henry, Del Rio, Christian) and all these faces popping up (Ryder, Punk, Bryan, Truth) that now is the best time to turn Cena heel and have him basically feud with everyone.

I sure hope R Truth isn't fed to Miz, but I'm sure that's where it's going to go. One of the things I've noticed about Miz, is how in a match he always seems to be on offense, I've never gotten this. It seems the guy is incapable of being able to sell a beating because I can't recall the last time he convincingly did anything more than take a few bumps. His offense is atrocious for a main eventer as is his psychology...glaring all the time doesn't make you look tough. Like a few others mentioned, he's just not convincing in that aspect (I still shutter at that WWE title tournament where he won two matched with an injured leg, ridiculous).
I think the pinnacle of what I bought Miz as was the time where he and Morrison were ringing the bell and messing with Festus...that just came off as "you know, Miz looks like the kind of guy who would do that crap to someone". And he really should be. He seems like a nice guy in real life, but I absolutely loathe his character as anything beyond being smarmy wanna-be prep bully. And for the love of God...give him someone he can play off of...he sucks when he doesn't have someone there as a foil.

I don't know about anyone else though, but the MOMENT he raps ANYTHING, and yes, I know he did as a heel, but I mean anything that's a rap with a face tone like his first gimmick, consider the crazy man gimmick dead. I seriously hope he does not rap ever again.
Also, in regards to the What? chants, maybe he can go along with them and say "'s UP!"
What?
's UP!
