I thought it was great that he busted his ass, to get TV time, but now I find him annoying, and I don't buy him as a wrestler... I think he is at best on ECW with the half pant half tight attire he wore..
I'm sorry
I do like his music though

I'm not sure what you mean by you don't buy him as a wrestler. It's not like he only recently started wrestling matches.

Ah, so you liked him when he had the gear that was apparently the reason people wouldn't take him seriously as a wrestler, but now you don't take him seriously as a wrestler for some reason.
Uh huh....

Can't stand him either. Possibly the most annoying wrestler of the last five years.

Not a fan of the guy but I really like how there's a character that's pretty much a WWE superfan personified in the ring.

I keep hearing that he takes his gimmick a little too seriously in real life.
Which I don't know about, but take twitter for example, for a guy who owes everything to fans, is he really quite so gracious to them for literally saving his career? Nope, still a recluse towards the little people. Even when he wasn't super-popular, you had to wear his shirt for him to even RT you.
Pretty classic example of the hipster dilemma. People didn't like him because he was a stellar guy, people liked him because he was underground and underrated. Well now that he's commercialized and pushed, he's not underground or underrated anymore, and he's still not a stellar guy, so where's the appeal of him as a person, not just as a performer?

He's a fantastic success story, but I'm not really a fan...which is weird because I loved him on ECW. Now I just find his acting unentertainingly cheesy and he's nothing special in the ring.

I've liked Ryder since he got drafted to ECW and will continue to like him.

This is fairly close to how I feel. It's a nice story but there hasn't been a single moment where I've been like "Ah-HA, I get it now! Woo woo woo!". He's actually almost an Attitude-Era throwback, along the lines of Road Dogg or The Godfather. He's got the gimmick/catchphrases but once the match starts....eh.

I'm not sure what you mean by you don't buy him as a wrestler. It's not like he only recently started wrestling matches. For the same reason some people can't buy into the Miz being a badass. I don't see Ryder as a threat to anyone. I find his move set weak. His finisher although better than the worm or santino's snake hand, I still don't see how it could be effective.. I thought it was great they were giving the guy a push at first, but in my opinion he doesn't deserve to carry the US title at all. If there was like a WCW TV title maybe. I know he pretty much made his Character, but its annoying. Almost like Jimmy Hart annoying I don't care if Cena or CM Punk see something in him.

I see what you're saying, but would a couple of responses to dedicated fans be quite so bad? That's why everybody loves Scott Stanford, not just for his awesome announcing, but because he's really quite authentic and he's happy to talk to his fans on a frequent basis. But for Zack, why do people have to buy his stuff for a chance for him to talk to them? That's so...commercial. Back to the hipster dilemma!

Yeah, I'm in the camp of liking how he put in all the hard work to get himself over, but not really being a fan of his as a wrestler.

I think he's a pretty good wrestler personally. But again they have now made him a "5 moves of doom" kinda guy, so he can't really do that much.
He had some awesome matches on ECW where he was busting out all kinds of stuff, i.e. the infamous Tiger Bomb on Christian that he hasn't done since for some reason.

not a big fan of the 'wrestler' but everything else about him is awesome in my opinion. The best thing though is his dad trying to make Luke Gallows turn into festus x

Once he drops the US title he needs to bring in the Internet Championship and make it into a legit TV title (or a legit .com title however the rules are, maybe it's only defended on NXT/Superstars broadcasts)
