Okay, yes, I'm well aware that the Kane character has the worst continuity. Regardless, does anyone find it ironic that he originally lost his mask after being called soft, but regained it and became strong?
For those who forgot, it was in 2002 when Kane was teaming with Rob Van Dam. He was pinned with a rollup by La Resistance, and Steve Austin accused him of being weak. Not long after, the mask was removed after he lost to Triple H, and Kane suddenly became a monster heel.
Flash forward to today, Kane regained the mask and is now telling John Cena to turn to the darkside and become a monster like him.
Juh???

Also, he was kicked into a flaming dumpster by Shane Mcmahon and came back sans mask. I thought for sure they were going to put it back on him then due to burns.

Well, he's burnt now, so maybe he had a delayed reaction

Kane's character in general has been the same since the year 2000, with or without the mask.

The idea that the mask has anything to do with his character's strength or anything and that he NEEDED it back irritates me to no end. The booking was the problem, not the mask or anything silly like that. Kane had the same problem every "monster" wrestler ever had: you can't push someone as an unstoppable monster forever, especially if they've been in the damn company like 15 years like Kane has. The yo-yo booking, depush and repush of Kane, Show, and Henry over the years is annoying but its not like they can just have them be dominant forever.
....sorry for the rant, I think I'm just mad about that stupid welding mask.

Kane's character will forever be the same. He's been the same for over 10 years which isn't surprising. He's the classic horror movie villain. He doesn't really need a gimmick, he's fine as he is. Honestly bringing in that Katie Vick angle (let's forget about the Triple H parts for a bit) was bad for his character. He's a monster and apparently when he was younger he and her got drunk? I mean this is Kane, that just didn't work out. I'm fine with him being a monster as he's always been. He's great on the mic, his wrestling skills are probably as they've been the past few years which is fine being the type of horror movie villain he is and he's being used in better ways now which is to propel characters such as Cena and whoever else they pair him with as he should be. Given his age it's only appropriate.
With or without mask keep him the same and I'm not complaining. Also to add onto that have Taker's streak either broken by Kane, Cena (yeah I'm fine with it given he's carried the company on his back for these years) or some up-and-comer star and I'll be fine. Kane's alright with me.

That's why he has the Hannibal Lector mask over the top of the original mask. Twice the masked power.

I'd actually prefer the welding mask to that stupid 2002 style mask he wears underneath...which was definitely Kane's worst look...well until now. In fact the whole return of Kane is just dull. The dude is the John Travolta of wrestling; full of a few highs and a lot of absolute lows. You can say what you want about the guys who refused to put people over or were just booked as unstoppable, because kayfabe-wise Undertaker is still indestructible and Triple H is a guy you don't want to mess with whatsoever. Kane? The dude is all over the card...I seriously find myself laughing at the notion of Cena being scared of this guy.

And yet no matter how much mastery over the stage effects he controls, he still makes it work. Onward Kane!

I just don't get why he said Rey Mysterio was weak for hiding behind a mask, but then started wearing one again.
