I love it. I think that would be better than what we see now. It just shows how much it dilutes the top talent pool to have a WWE and a World Champ, as well as the US and IC titles. The World title has pretty much become the IC title with an overinflated importance, which makes the US and the real IC less important, and so on. I think this is a much more logical booking situation which would create a lot more competition for the titles and provide fresher matches on a regular basis.

It's funny, when I read "old school booker" that's what popped intio my mind as well.

I think it'd be boring as hell. Sure, it'd work back in the day when wrestling was a sporadic thing, but with 4 hours of shows, a main event consisting of 5 people would be awful. Let's not mix words here, Stone Cold retired due to physical strain, he'd most definitely be gone by now if he hadn't. The Rock would be gone anyways, because he found something else. Undertaker is pretty much non-existence, so the title picture would consist of HHH, John Cena, Kane, Big Show and Mark Henry.

I'm not saying that's not how an old school booker might view it, I'm just saying I think that'd make for an awful ME scene. The IC scene would be awesome, but the top of the card would be pathetic.

Also, yeah, looking at it, no way Orton is at the IC title level.

My problem with this is that you can't simply book people like rock and austin as active wrestlers. Rock has had 1 match in 7 years and Austin retired due to injuries. Old school or not neither of them would be actively on the roster.

Old School bookers would definately not consider Austin or Rock on the roster.

Also setting up the TV title division as your third tier is a mistake. It was frequently on par with the US title or above. Dusty Rhodes challenged for the World TItle as TV champ. Tully Blanchard held the TV and US titles at times during his time with the Horsemen.

To be fair, having the "vanilla midgets" in the midcard makes the shows better as a whole. Keep the hosses all together in the world title picture and keep the workhorses together in the other divisions. It's a little unfair perhaps, but it would mean having a better show from top to bottom IMO

Austin had injuries, if he hadn't retired back then, he'd be done now due to injuries. He wouldn't be part of the active roster anyways.

The Rock... well, no promoter could force him to stay. He was charismatic enough to branch out, and no matter the mindset of the promoter, you can't count him as an active roster member.

I mean, it's fine you want to theorize how an old school booker might consider these guys, but facts are facts and the people who aren't active aren't active. They shouldn't be considered part of the current roster.
