Exactly you need to get everyone and anyone sick of John Cena. Yeah I know a lot of people here seem to be sick of Cena but give it a couple of more years before you go out turn the guy. It has to feel like a major deal long in the making before you turn Cena heel.

I think his overness, polarizing as it is, is a testament to him as a performer. You're right about that, just not in the way you intended. As a performer the only thing he is to me is some clumsy, dinky, Barney-like creature who doesn't follow any type of logic that makes sense... I'm down for whatever makes John Cena watchable as a character because he peaked in the ring a few years ago. This Kane thing almost makes me care about him though but this being a WWE story, the follow through is probably going to be ineffectual. Eh. Huzzah for Cena facing dilemmas he can't bench press his way through or act like Mr. Jokey JokeMaker.

How many more years can they run with it before Cena gets really stale? Like his reactions just start decreasing all around.

I also mentioned in the thread about titlecelebrations about a heel having a HUGE celebration for beating a hand picked jobber, confetti and pyro et al. Cena would be perfect for this.

It has to feel like a major deal long in the making before you turn Cena heel. The Cena heel turn could be like Brodus Clay's debut. John Laurinaitis: "Sorry WWE Universe, now's not the right time for a Cena heel turn. Maybe next year."

Or at least not if you want a heel Cena to work properly. In order to get the entire crowd against him, WWE should turn him into an obnoxious, Kurt Angle-esque goofy heel. He still has the colorful ring gear and lame jokes, but he insults the fans, targets face wrestlers and cheats. That way children and adults both have reason to hate his guts. Now if he's turned into a take-no-prisioners, HHH-esque killer heel, then yeah, the heel turn will probably flop. And for those of you who follow me- yes, I've pitched this idea in nearly every other thread where there's concern over heel Cena getting cheered. What can I say, I think it's a good solution. So here's its own topic. It is a good solution.

I agree that this would be an interesting way to turn the character heel, however they would need to be very careful about how they do it. There is a risk that he could become 2006 Angle where he is so goofy he gets cheered despite being a heel, ruining the effectiveness this character can have.

Honestly he shouldn't change characters at all. He should do the same thing he does to Miz and Del Rio to Punk and Ryder.
As long as fans boo him, he'd be their top heel for years.
