Or something even longer? I just heard about the 80 minute ROH match and from all accounts I've seen it was horrid. That's just too long for a wrestling match.
On the other hand, can you think of a scenario where a 60 minute draw would work in the WWE?

Technically the WM12 Ironman match went to 60 minute draw before the overtime period.
Oh, and I've heard nothing but, love for the ROH 80 minute 8 man match.

Oh, and I've heard nothing but, love for the ROH 80 minute 8 man match. This. From what I have seen, everyone who has talked about the match has praised it. In regards to 60 minute draw, It could happen I suppose but I doubt it will anytime soon.

Maybe it's because the accounts I heard were from people in the live crowd, but I heard that it just died a death after about the 45 minute mark, where most of the people were just waiting for it to end so they could go home.

What is this epic RoH match? Sounds like my dream, i love 60 minute or more matches. I can't stand hearing about a 30 minute Iron Man match, in my eyes it should be an hour or nothing.

Personally I hate iron man matches... they always drag, kind of by design.
If they go to 60 minutes on it's own then fine... but I don't think it should be forced like that.
From all accounts the WWE really doesn't have a time limit on their matches, as the Cena vs. Michaels match in London was like 60 minutes on it's own... and it would be a dead give away what was happening if they started announcing time limits at the beginning of them again.

It was the main event of their Northern Aggression show from Dec. 4. 8-Man Elimination Tag that pitted ROH World Tag Team Champions Charlie Haas & Shelton Benjamin, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards, & El Generico against Jay & Mark Briscoe, Roderick Strong, and “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. I don't know that the DVD is out yet.

Actually the Cena/Michaels match went around 50 minutes on television, but as it was a taped show, I've heard people say that the actual match was somewhere around 45 minutes, and was just made to look longer on television. I don't know how true that is. Anyway, I don't see why they'd have to announce a time limit. They could simply have a match where the bell rings and the ring announcer says that the 60 minute time limit has expired. I really don't think anybody would be complaining that no time limit was announced before hand. Alternatively, they could have the ring announcer announce "5 minutes remain" at the 55 minute mark. That way it doesn't ruin it before the match even begins, and the final stretch can be both guys desperately trying to end it before the time expires. Even further, they could simply bring back the time limits in the ring introductions a month or so before they actually use it, that way it's not so suspicious. I've always marked out for matches that end this way. The last time limit draw in WWE that I can recall was HHH vs. The Rock at Fully Loaded '98. I think it was a 2 out of 3 falls match and the 30 minute time limit expired just as HHH was about to win the IC title. Of course, this was back when Fink would say "The following contest is (x falls) and has a (x minute) time limit..." before every match. I'm sure there's been others since then, but I don't recall them.

Maybe but you have to build to it. First you start announcing time limits again. Then in a few weeks you have a draw or two. Then you get two wrestlers who you think can do it like Punk and DB. You have several 10-15 min draws. The kind where Punk is in the LaBell lock but close to the ropes so it could go either way and then a draw. Same with the next match with DB in the Vice. Then you hype the hell out of the 30 min one and same thing a draw. Next you hype 60 min. The only problem is that I think people might crap on a 60 min draw. Its just a little too long.

I'm checking online, and from the looks most people loved the match. As for a 60 minute match, the last one the WWE had IIRC was Cena vs Orton about 2 years ago. They can probably do it again, but I'm not a big fan of those types of matches.

The answer is.............no. WWE does not have the time to do that with tv and ppv scheduling.
ROH can kind of get away with that with internet ppvs because those are allowed more leeway than tv. Internet PPV channels are not stuffed to the brim with programming like Television PPV Channels.

I would love to see a 60 minute time limit draw next week between CM Punk and Dolph Ziggler. They already proved they can pace theirselves well, have good chemistry along with doing a good job of using pyschology in their matches. I am sure it would be entertaining, especially for the championship. A time limit draw is also a great idea to put over the challenger in a title match and doesn't make the champion look bad, everybody wins.

I dont think it goes over this day in age. I dont see people buying a PPV for a 60 minute match and they won't do it on Raw because of how easily people change channels.
So, no, to the question. We won't see that anytime soon.

I heard that too. I think Dave Meltzer said if you're a hardcore ROH fan you'd love it but if you're a casual or new fan you'd have hated it and I know he said the fans were tired half way through the match.

Punk and Ziggler COULD totally do this, especially on a three hour RAW, but it would have to be somewhere towards the middle of a show and have to be in front of a really hot crowd.

I definitely think we will see this at some point, mainly because of their recent embracing of internet fandom.
It'll never be something seen regularly, nor should it be, but I'd be extremely surprised if they even went 3 more years without doing this at least once. They've got several combinations of people on their roster they could use to make it happen.
I think it would be a good way to START a long storyline, actually. Don't announce "The following match has a 1 hour time limit!". Just run the match between two workhorses and have it go one hour naturally, then have the bell ring declaring it a time limit draw.
Crowd would be hot for the continuance of the feud and it writes itself.
