Kayfabe, what is the point of Piper and Kane talking to Cena? What I mean is, what are they trying to accomplish? Do they want Cena to start hating the fans like they hate him? Because that won't accomplish anything, since the fans will continue to hate him, nor is that a reasonable request, since its not good business to tell an employee to hate the fans. I understand that WWE is trying to make Cena heel, but in my opinion this is the stupidest way possible. It's too much on the nose

I'm sure it's just going to be used as a way for Cena at least to stop being a door mat, and while I don't think they'll turn him heel I think they're building him up to at least draw from the ire of the crowd, or whatever wrestler that is disrespecting him.
How can this guy have any meaningful rivalries when he compliments every guy who cheap shots him all the time?

I think its quite clever actually. Kane and Piper really trying to get inside Cena's head is a really fresh way of looking at it. Theyre trying to get him to go into business for himself, and if it turns him heel, could be a huge gamechanger for Cena.

Basically the way I see it is remember 'The Killing Joke' Batman story arc by Alan Moore? You have the Joker (Kane) trying to drive the most upright, good-doing guy in Gotham Commissioner Gordon (Cena) insane and showing him that he is no better than the average man. I think it's something similar going on here, in that WWE is finally realizing that there are wholes to Cena's character that need to be filled in to make him more 'complete' (ie he has to be affected by the boos which would get to anybody, he can't blow off whenever every single guy basically rips him apart verbally, etc), and that if he turns heel in the process, it will be from a nice slow burn.

Maybe this storyline is being influenced by the Christmas Carol story, with Piper as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and eventually a rising Superstar as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come?

I think Piper just wants Cena to reach his full potential and do that he first needs to acknowledge that the constant jeering is taking a toll on him and then do something about it. If he doesn’t he won’t be at his best and therefore won’t be able to defeat the Rock at WM.
Kane is Kane and doesn't need a reason. However you could just say he wants people to see the world like he does.

So who is Kane going to shoot? Zack Ryder. He then becomes one of the biggest background supporters of WWE's faces as the "Broracle".

Why should Cena be affected by the boos and such? As Boardwalk Empire clearly stated, not every insult requires a response. Lol. And technically, he is in business for himself. He doesn't care about half of the audience. He only cares about those that like him. Isn't that like all of us? We mostly concern ourselves with people that please us and like us, don't we? I know I do. Also, he reacts to those incidences which he can do something about. When people like Kane or Nexus attack him, he fights back. But how can he react to the audience? By insulting them? He can't lay a hand on them, as that would be assault. In my eyes, he is being used as an ideal role model, in the sense that insulting people is bad, but you should stand up for yourself. Things that children should learn. Yeah, the whole violence solves everything is also taught, but come on, that is part of the wrestling show. You can't really have a wrestler get attacked, but then go tell on the attackers. Every class has some things to be ignored

However, I do see him initially crack under the pressure, where Cena will eventually indeed rise above the hatred, both figuratively and in a literal sense.

He then becomes one of the biggest background supporters of WWE's faces as the "Broracle". And leads his new team, Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, and Air Boom - the Bros of Prey.

Instead of just deal with it and ignore it, he kissed up to the Chicago crowd and played up how Chicago is a great wrestling town. It's one thing to ignore or "overcome the hate" it's another thing to kiss the ass of people who hate you. I think eventually he will snap and it will become a Bret Hart style turn. He will absolutely go nuts on the haters, but still be loyal to his fans. It really won't make anything different at all, but atleast he can wrestle faces and not steal heat from guys like the Miz and ADR who just get lost in the mix when they wrestle Cena.

They're trying to break though his laid back personality. Which they think is a "mask" to hide his true feelings.
They think that's holding him back from being his absolute best.

I think it's more keeping Cena with significant tv time but away from the title. I don't know what direction this will go, but any kind of actual story intrigues me. Something that has the potential for real character development for such a boring character in Cena will only freshen things up.

Thankfully they fixed that when he came out stone faced later on.
