Cena isn't going to turn, he's going to "Rise Above Hate" like his shirt recommends(available at wweshop.com) Or he may, like Kane's new shirt will say, "Embrace the Hate"(coming soon to wweshop.com) Begun the T-Shirt wars have.

Kayfabe, what is the point of Piper and Kane talking to Cena? What I mean is, what are they trying to accomplish? Do they want Cena to start hating the fans like they hate him? Because that won't accomplish anything, since the fans will continue to hate him, nor is that a reasonable request, since its not good business to tell an employee to hate the fans. I understand that WWE is trying to make Cena heel, but in my opinion this is the stupidest way possible. It's too much on the nose From what I've seen so far, Piper and Kane are trying to tell Cena that's he's weak to just accept the segment of the fanbase who hate him as their freedom of expression, when he should be rubbing their face in it, telling them to stick it, and using their hate as a means of showing more energy and aggression.

Just had a thought on where they might be going with this, and Cena being so selfless with Ryder. Still don't think Cena's actually turning, but I could see something where Laurinaitis has Ryder fighting for Cena's right to be in the Rumble match or challenge for the WWE title or something. He loses, and then Cena comes out and, after some goading from Kane or somebody plus Ryder apologizing over and over, lays him out. Then whenever Cena turns face again it could be through saving Ryder from Kane or something.

Piper and (especially) Kane are the Palpatine to Cena's Anakin Skywalker.

Only if WWE's shop claims it's a pair of pants. As for the nonstop Star Wars comparisons, can somebody go with something a little less, I dunno, obvious? Like... Fullmetal Alchemist. Kane is Barry the Chopper, and how does Cena know that Vince didn't bind his soul to a T-shirt in 2005 and his memories of being a popular badass are fabricated?

I still expect Cena to prevail. I don't think he'll turn heel. He'll be tempted, but at the last minute will do the heroic thing.

The entire reason Cena needs to turn heel is because he's not only stale but because of the boos. If you're the main attraction of the company you can't be bood by half the audience. Even worse if the fact you're boo'd by that many and you still sell the most imagine how it'll be if you get them on your side. They're trying to find out how Cena can evolve his character but eventually get everyone back on his side. I see him turning heel and being an amazing heel, if anything I'm sure heel Cena will have tons to say about what's been happening over the years. He'll be a heel for a while and will be in some great feuds.
Then in the end he'll turn back face but will still show the aggression and truth of his heel self and will be "complete" in a way while still being a face. That way he gets everyone on his side again and won't be stale. Makes perfect sense. Also since he'll turn heel he can transition from face to heel if they need him too. It'll benefit everyone. Cena, the WWE, fans and also other wrestlers. I mean who wouldn't want to see a face Ryder vs heel Cena, a heel Cena vs a face Orton or a heel Cena vs face Punk. The possibilities are endless.

Easy answer-- the Cena v Rock match at Wrestlemania has an obvious face (Rock) and an obvious heel (Cena). The "Road to Wrestlemania" needs to be paved with Cena acting as the heel, but thanks to Rocky not being on TV each and every week it's left up to Cena to literally work both sides of the fued by himself.
Kane, Miz, and other heels laying into Cena every week does the Wrestlemania match no favors since Cena will be getting cheered by most of the audience against them. So they are left to take a more proactive approach in promos-- have Cena pitted up against the audience, rather than the 'heel of the week'. As of now Cena's always been glad-handing and turning the other cheek in regards to his haters, basically ignoring the fact that he gets booed aside from smiling like an idiot and thanking people from hating him.
I think Kane will bring it home that Cena is a real person, not just some emotionless dope who never gets hurt in the ring, and never cares when people chant he sucks every night. The Rock's insults echo the ones the audience has, so obviously Rocky and the People go hand-in-hand, so the Wrestlemania fued needs to culminate in Cena turning his back on the People. A fixed "Taboo Tuesday" vote where Rocky wins over Cena would be perfect to finally turn him heel.

Maybe this storyline is being influenced by the Christmas Carol story, with Piper as the Ghost of Christmas Past, Kane as the Ghost of Christmas Present, and eventually a rising Superstar as the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come? Foley doesn't really fit as Jacob Marley, though. I dunno. TNA could represent the chains Jacob Foley forged in life. If Cena continues down the road he's on then his time in TNA would last AN ETERNITY!
