"Ryback" will never remind me of anything but Under Siege. ... I think we need a Steven Seagal gimmick. which Seagal are we talking? Early 90's everyman who can break your arm 20 different ways? or delusional, fat, pony tailed Segal? or Mad Tv Segal?

Fine with the catchphrase, but I've been saying since he started in FCW that Dean Ambrose is a dreadful name.

I don't know. From what I've seen of him, I could see him being mysterious. And you don't need to be a monster to be feared. Oh for sure. Don't get me wrong, I have faith that Ambrose himself could pull it off. I just think WWE would have a hard time selling him like that, because often WWE uses the cop-out of big=scary=feared. There is a certain level of subtlety that Creative would have to use, and though they are capable of it, I think they are sometimes scared that it will go over the normal fan's head. However, WWE has surprised me a lot lately, so I'm more than happy to have my skepticism extinguished, but we'll see! A modern-day version of early Mankind/90's Raven is what the roster has been needing for a LOOOOOOONG time.

I won't compare his talents to that of those two men, but I think if anyone can handle that kind of character, it's Ambrose.

Fine with the catchphrase, but I've been saying since he started in FCW that Dean Ambrose is a dreadful name. Well Jon Moxley wasn't all that intimidating a name to begin with, so...

It's Dean that throws me off. It's a name that I just can't take seriously.

Yeah the Dean part is terrible. All I can think of when I hear that name is Dean Douglas and the ridiculous teacher gimmick.

it's funny, it took me a long time to think of Dean Douglas as being his job away from wrestling supposedly. I knew him from WCW and wondered why they changed his name

He does have a very scary sociopathic vibe about him, and it could work.

I'm interested to see how Ambrose will pull it off. He's certainly not a typical promo guy, to say the least. He kinda goes all over the place, so it would be interesting to find out how he runs with it.

I don't mind his name at all. It's not like his indy name was any better. Can't wait to see him get called up.

If there's a guy with the name Dolph on the roster, I don't think the name Dean will have any trouble fitting in.

If there's a guy with the name Dolph on the roster, I don't think the name Dean will have any trouble fitting in. I agree. I hated Dolph Ziggler's name for the longest time until they started letting him talk on the mic a month or two ago and now I think he is soo good that I don't care. At this point Dolph's name could be Chilly McFreeze and he could still get over.
