Nash didn't go for a bottom rung splash? And risk tearing his quad?

I thought it was a pretty enjoyable brawl, but then again I don't get all my opinions from the internet.
Seriously, everyone wanted to hate that match before it even began.

It didn't really feel like it was from the same company as the rest of the PPV. Not that it was so bad, it just didn't fit with the rest of the roster at all. The rest of the show was very focused on fresher talents, then we have these 2 old slow dudes brawling for 20 minutes. It felt shoehorned in.

I don't think that's necessarily true. I mean, I absolutely despise both men and thought it would suck beyond belief, but it did what it was supposed to do and was a hell of a lot better than their 2003 matches. It wasn't a good match by any means, but it was...there.

I liked it, and judging by Nash's tweet... {Spoiler}I think that was his swan song.

Here's my biggest problem with it.
IT WASN'T A DAMN LADDER MATCH!!!
In EVERY Ladder Match the WWE has put on (to my knowledge), the object of the match is to climb the ladder and retrieve the object (title, contract, briefcase, custody papers, sack of money, panties...wait, that was a video game...etc) and win the match. Not climb the ladder, grab an object, use the object, and get a pinfall. This was a damn glorified Sledgehammer On A Poll match. Only, it wasn't a Sledgehammer On A Poll match, because Vince Russo, the master of X On A Poll, is in TNA.

It was kind of wierd going from guys in their late 20s and early 30s to Nash and HHH. Nash look really old as the match went on, his hair looked fried and he was moving pretty badly(granted HHH working his knee worked that into the match well). But I did like the match, I expected bad and it was actually pretty solid. HHH went above and beyond to make that match good, and Nash's fall was a huge surprise. Although an even bigger surprise would be if Nash didn't legitimately injure himself in that match.

The ending was WAY better than that corny melodramatic ending from the Michaels/Flair match. I loved Nash slowly bringing up the Kliq sign just for Triple H to bash him in the damn face. That told the entire story.

It seemed like it was dragging at first, and then the last few minutes really picked up and it got pretty good down the stretch. As Hit-Monkey stated, Nash holding up the Kliq sign before Hunter nails him was an outstanding ending. Little things like that really help matches.
If that was Nash's swan song, that was a decent way for him to go at this point in his career. Not only that, he went out like a heel should.... knocked on his ass.
At the end of the day, the length was the only complaint I had about this match.

Nash didn't go for a bottom rung splash? And risk tearing his quad? I want HHH/Nash II at WM in an "ARGH, MY QUAD!" match. First one to scream "ARGH, MY QUAD!" (presumably due to tearing his quad) loses.

I actually liked Sting vs. Hogan better, but this was a fine ppv match. It told a story, had a build-up and a good ending.

I know the Nash ladder spot got a lot of love (rightfully so) but my favorite spot was the figure four thru the ladder. There was just something so cereberal assasinish aout it.

I liked the ending and a few bits and pieces but it was by far the worst match and felt out of place on the current youth movement of WWE.

I thought Nash and HHH put on a decent respectable showing better than I thought they ever could, but hell they looked exhausted. I've never seen Nash or HHH move so slow in my life
