Here's an interesting one: what if it's Melina?

I'm surprised that Molly Holly hasn't been guessed.
I think Trish might make the most sense.

Here's an interesting one: what if it's Melina? Part of me would love that, but by and large I know full well that it would serve little to no purpose. After all, while the audience liked her and she could act and wrestle, what is there left for her to do? What purpose would it really serve? They need to stop looking to the past and look to the future and work on getting some newer divas over in an intelligent and well-planned manner. And that doesn't mean bringing back Melina, nor does it mean bringing back Trish, or Michelle, or Lita.

Don't play with my emotions like that. I'm still not over the fact that I can't see her amazing boobage on a semi-regular basis anymore. Well, since we've seen pictures of wrestlers posing with her recently... Actually this was my first thought after seeing those picture earlier today. I admit, I'd mark out, but I can't imagine most of the audience actually caring. And would she really want to end a 10 year retirement to compete in the currently much derided by the IWC Divas division? Personal crazy theory - Velvet McIntyre. During the feud it'll be revealed that she's actually Drew McIntyre's Mom, and he'll turn on "Mom" and hook up with Beth Phoenix.

I honestly hope it's Ivory. She was awesome.

A Michelle McCool return would be perfect. Why would it be perfect? What substantial number of people in the audience would want to see her? Besides that, her nagging injuries render her physically unable to do much in the ring at this point without something serious happening. What are the benefits? From a personal standpoint, and I'd say I'm speaking for the other poster, I want to see Michelle, as a fan. When I think about what I'd like to see in wrestling, I don't think "what makes the most business sense? what would a substantial number of people like to see?" That's ridiculous, and I think that separates a fan from a Keller, or a stockholder. I have no vested interest in WWE financially, I just want to see the wrestlers I like. As far as her injuries, she's been gone for about 7 months. All I heard was that she had a foot injury, surely that would be heeled up by now. If not, then of course, she shouldn't come back.

If it's McCool, that's awesome that she was nice enough to wait until I stopped watching Raw and Smackdown to return.

Rockin Robin? Wendi Richter? Mae Young? (she was at RAW) Mae Young was not a women's champion. Also... HARVEY WHIPPLEMAN! You people never listen to me... but I know these things...

only thing i can say with it not being Trish AND Lita is that the story says "A" former champ not two of them. be interesting if it was Lita, she's been away further barring a random backstage appearance here and there. Trish already fought with Beth before briefly during one of her returns already didn;t she?

It'll be McCool or Layla
We can effectively rule out Mickie, Melina, and Candice. So unless we reach all the way back to 2006... McCool and Layla are it. And both have been noted to be making a return soon.

Ugh. It's times like this that make me wonder what the thought process is when the WWE decides to hire a diva.

Ugh. It's times like this that make me wonder what the thought process is when the WWE decides to hire a diva. WTF she's not a former women's champion. I am so damned disappointed. This is why I should never get my hopes up for diva returns. Really--I was hoping it would be Lita! Ugh.

well, maybe this wasn't about Maria and it's just coincidence? Yeah, I doubt they're bringing the teeny tiny Maria in to feud with Beth and Nattie. I'm still holding out for Lita (and a Lita/Trish v DOD WM match could be great).
