To me, that was the culmination of CM Punk's rise. Yeah, MITB was his career defining moment, where he became THE guy, but his road wasn't done. They had him ME summerslam, feud and then team with Triple H, all to solidify him as the NEW top face and give him the universal support and momentum he needed; and for once, WWE DIDN'T drop the ball. Survivor Series at Madison Square Garden was Phil Brooks' coronation. No matter where we go from here, there's no turning back. It's Punk's world now.

He'd better keep his promise and change the belt design.

MITB was the night where Punk was in the discussion of top faces of the company, but last night signified that Punk is indeed that, and he's done being midcard fodder. He's in the pantheon of the Cena's and the Orton's. Just to think that we'd laugh our asses off if we heard that 5-6 years ago as he was still in ROH.

Didn't see it coming,I thought he would win it at TLC then defend it until Mania. But I still marked, and he's still going to headline Mania as champ imo.

That moment made Vince a CM Punk fan.

I've gotta say, he won't have it long. He'll keep it for a month or so, but it isn't going to last.

I just can't shake the feeling all this does is make Punk the new Edge, the guy they toss the belt on when they don't have a story or angle to push some guy toward it.

Cant wait to see Raw tonight. This reign will be a true test to see if the company and him will back up all the 'change' talk they were on about during the summer. The thread that wants to bring back the breakthrough battle royal is a great idea for his monthly challenges to the title.

I do wish they hadn't derailed him with the unnecessary (especially now in retrospect) Nash/HHH feud of sorts. Glad he's back on track, but what a waste of time that whole thing was/is.

Punks probably had the best year in the company and he got it by trashing the company. How incredible is that? That has to be an employee's dream, let alone a wrestler's dream. It's almost like you're being rewarded for speaking your mind. Awesome.

He should bring back the Winged Eagle belt and feud with Danielson. Build it up for a match at WM

As long as he makes good on his promise to change the belt, I'm all for it.
As long as there aren't any gimmicks to it. Just a belt, nothing more.

I think Punk's coronation cements the 'E's loss of faith in Del-Rio.
