Is it supposed to be a massive rib on Hogan? They've been promoting the hell out of the DVD release of it for several weeks. I mean, it's a terrible movie that's Wal-Mart bargain bin fodder. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to buy it, so I guess that joke is on me...

It's definitely a rib on Hogan. Jokes on them, because the DVD sales would put $ in his pocket.
Also, No Holds Barred is still the best movie the WWE's ever produced.

I don't think it's a rib, but rather promoting the movie for the camp that it is rather than the seriousness that it tried to be. And to tell the truth, I think it's working.

I think the only way they can promote the movie is as "so bad it's good".

If only they had the superstar discussion as a bonus video. That was hilarious!

It's been 21 years and people know it's pure cheese so they are hyping it that and it's working. Would you rather them promote this as a serious action movie?

They are promoting it as ironic, which is the only way that movie is going to sell.

I think they just want to sell it. They can't say that it's a good movie, it's the shits, so they have to do things like this.

while I doubt that it's the main thrust of it, I do get the sense that it's a bit of a rib on Hogan, albeit a light-hearted one.

To be fair, it's a somewhat notable release, for how long it hasn't been available on video. I remember paying $35 for the laserdisc back in 2003. Worth every penny.

i DON'T CARE WHAT ANY OF YOU SAY!!! 5 STAR MOVIE!!! I'm still entertained by it, better than ANY WWE released movie since the studio opened. What would be even funnier is if it did better then the Marine.

It's a terrible movie, even as a young "Hulkamaniac", I had a hard time sitting through it (and I even liked Mr. Nanny).
But I still have little doubt that it will end up outselling most WWE Films DVDs.

I'm going to WalMart to pick one up tomorrow. I've owned it on vhs for years now and watch it probably twice a year.
I do find the ads are poking fun at Hogan... BROTHER! But meh, I'll enjoy it on DVD and keep the vhs as a backup copy.
I also own Mr. Nanny and Suburban Commando on DVD. Are those both WWE movies? I wonder if they will be re-released next?

You know what the absolute best thing about this movie is? Stan Hansen! All his scenes are awesome, and I quote his lines quite often. Its also interesting that the guy who played Brock Chisler was one of the Bikers in Pee Wee's Big Adventure.
Then there is Randy's girlfriend, who is in several scenes, yet does not have one single line. I mean the scene in Rip's house where they first see Zeus. She just sits there watching, and nodding at what everyone else says. Honestly who knows if she's Randy's GF or not, maybe she's their sister. Since she never says anything, and her presence is never acknowledged. I guess SOMEONE had to be there to push Randy's wheelchair at the end of the movie.
Anyway its nice to finally have this on DVD.
