I've been watching the nWo DVD this weekend, and I really like it. The documentary was really good. I liked that they had recent interviews by a lot of key players of the era. Guys like Nash, Big Show, Booker T, Arn Anderson, Lex Lugar. That was cool. Matt Striker felt out of place, but I liked the inclusions of Cody Rhodes and Joe Hennig (yes, they call him Joe Hennig not Michael McGillicutty). They had to dust off some older footage for Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff soundbytes, which I have mixed feeling about, but glad they're included. It wouldn't feel right without them. Overall they did a good job of covering the nWo from multiple perspectives. I liked that the WWE version of the nWo was trashed at the end. They really celebrated the original nWo, and they deserve kudos for that.
I'm only halfway through the matches, but wow what a great lineup of matches. I love this set. I miss the announcing from that era so much. Listening to Schiavone, Tenay, HEENAN, Rhodes, etc brings back so many warm fuzzy memories. These guys knew how to sell the story. I love the inclusions like Syxx vs. Bounty Hunter from nWo Saturday Night. Hogan/Rodman vs. Luger/Giant was also another great treat for me. This DVD really reminded me of how different and revolutionary the nWo really was at the time. You wish the guys today had half the entertainment value the nWo guys had back then.

They really knew how to sell the nwo story...because that was all they talked about in the under card matches too!

Oh wow, didn't know those existed.
I thought it might have been a volume 2 of the Legends of Wrestling collection, which I would have been pumped for.

I'm guessing that's a light green tin that just looks gold because of the flash, and that it's one of the Summerslams or a Survivor Series. Speaking of which, did the FYE tin-case Summerslams come with any extras? Anyone what the gold-colored one on the right is?

I actually own SummerSlam 2007 tin case exclusive from FYE and as far as I know it does not contain any exclusive extras on the DVD. If I remember correctly during 2007-2009, Blockbuster had exclusive added bonus disc for specific PPVs. Here's the SummerSlam 2007 tin case I have: {Spoiler}

And that's what WWE failed to realize about the concept (or at least one of the things). The nWo was not a stable of wrestlers in the company. It was a completely different entity that was trying to take over Nitro from WCW. There were casual fans that didn't even realize that WCW owned the nWo brand name, because that's how it was supposed to be in kayfabe.

For those of you waiting for the right moment to order the overseas-exclusive WWE BluRays, right now is probably that time.
If you order from Amazon.CO.UK, the total cost of, say the 2011 Summerslam bluray, including shiping to America, comes out to $25.00, which is not bad considering that's the cost of most WWE blurays stateside.

The big problem is region coding. At some time last year, WWE got smart and locked all the European BD's to 'B', which means it'll only play on Euro-style players only.

So after years of seraching (and not paying outragous prices), I finally found the holy grail of my collection, Raw Homecoming, at the Exchange. The price??
$5.
When I saw it, I almost had a heart attack.
I can't explain how excited I am to find it for that pricing!
Also, picked up an extra copy of Survivor Series 2000 that will be on Ebay soon if anyone is interested.

TLC 2011 is the only WWE bluray of 2011 to have region coding. For Summerslam, Night of Champions, Hell in a Cell, Vengeance and Survivor Series you should be fine.
