Raw 1000 is going to be the biggest show since Mania 28. MITB will probably be good anyways, but it's just going to be the usual B-ppv.

Considering reports were that WWE was considering MitB as a throw away ppv and putting all their focus into Summerslam, and the fact that I'm pretty unimpressed with the MitB card when I compare it to last year's, I think the 1000th episode is more important.

I really think it's ok to have high expectations for a ''1000th'' episode of a show. The problem is...whenever they promote these kind of shows, they almost always tend to be not very good. It's always the big hype machine, throwaway matches (if we get any true matches), and absolutely no build toward anything because the focus is on the festivities and skits involving a bunch of talent we don't see on a regular basis. Quite frankly, it's frustrating that they will not somehow write the storylines into the show itself, possibly even ending the show with a quality WWE title match, in order to maybe catch some new viewers who are watching for the sheer curiousity of a show making it to 1,000 episodes. Instead, I expect promos and Michael Cole getting a beatdown from Hornswoggle.

If you have your expectations set on a wrestling-oriented show, then you're going to be disappointed. Raw 1000 is probably going to be a celebration. A few matches, yeah, but the focus is going to be on skits, promos, and the fun of seeing your old favorites and the big names who helped make Raw last this long show up. Tailor your expectations towards that, and the show should be fine.

MITB has MITB matches. That is what Im watching. that being said, RAW 1000 has the potential to be HUGE.

The PPV will probalby have better wrestling, but Raw will have a ton of nostalgic value. I'd probably watch the Raw first just to see everyone that they'll bring back. My exact thoughts.

The only thing I'm interested in from Raw 1000 is the return of Lesnar. I'm never all that excited in seeing all the old-timers that we see on a regular basis anyway make their return, and I think that's what the show will mainly revolve around. The WWE will go all out on this one show to boost ratings, then it'll be back to auto-pilot the next week. Typical short term thinking by the WWE. What classifies as an old timer to you? Rock Lesnar HBK/Trips DX return Edge Possibly Austin/Taker Bret Foley Just a small list of those who announced that they are all in the house. Now if you are talking Snuka, Piper type guys then yeah, nothing exciting about them.
