Getting closer to my era, but not quite. I can vaguely remember the Pat O'Connor era(my dad was a wrestler then), but the first actual world title match I remember watching was Gene Kiniski vs the Fabulous Jackie Fargo for the NWA title in Memphis, TN.

Dick Hutton, BTW, for those who didn't know, was a 3-time NCAA heavyweight champion at Oklahoma State as an amateur. Ironically, he lost in the finals of his senior year to Verne Gagne.
Dick went on to wrestle professionally in a number of the territories, and won the NWA World title in 1957 from Lou Thesz. He dropped the belt in 1959 to Pat O'Connor.
Dick retired young from the business, saving his money to open his own auto dealership, which proved to be quite successful. He lived in Texas with his wife until he died in 2003, at the age of 80. One of wrestling's (rare) success stories-a gifted athlete, who escaped with his health intact to become successful in other ventures and live comfortably for a long time.
