What is the point of this? To stroke your ego or brag about something you probably won't do? Do you think you'll look cool or something?

As someone who made one of these threads and has still not watched a show since Christian lost the belt, sometimes it's not just a grab for attention. I think the point is more if someone doesn't want attention over it, there'd be no need to make a thread declaring it to everyone, even if they don't ever watch again.

If you're going to be the guy who quits watching AND doesn't post on forums anymore, then good riddance. If you're going to be the guy who doesn't watch anymore but still bitches and complains about every little detail while acting like you don't give a f*** about what goes on because you don't watch then

I love when fans attach their own stipulations to matches.
If you watch wrestling long enough, you're going to be disappointed with various results, a lot. There's just so many possible outcomes, so many possible ways to go, you just have get over yourself. Your guy isn't going to win every time and the guys you don't like will sometimes win. There's SO much more enjoyment to be had from wrestling from taking in what they give you with a more positive attitude than DEMANDING certain outcomes and threatening to quit watching when they don't give it to you. Or just don't watch, that's cool too. But when you put your fandom on the line as a stip in a match, I think you're in a dark place where you have about a 0% chance of ever enjoying the product. Just my opinion.

Caveat:
What if Punk ends up losing the WWE Championship but wins the World Heavyweight Championship?
Say Punk loses the belt to Cena but challenges Ziggler for his MitB shot, wins it, then cashes it in on Sheamus and wins?
And if that happens, I think it's time for all of us to get on the Water Wagon.

Is this real life? Posts like this is why the IWC has the reputation it does! Who threatens to quit watching if a guy loses the strap after a 8 month run with the title and after winning and defending it on 10 PPV in a row

The "Mark" character from that "Are You Serious?" episode now seems frighteningly accurate, maybe even more than before.

I quit watchingf years ago when Cena first won the belt. You're all a bunch of wannabes. WANNABES! I pretty much did the same thing, except during HHH's reign of terror and came back 5 years later for no real reason. So..... I DID IT FIRST.

Honestly, at the moment I'd rather see Cena with the title than Punk. Not planning to watch for awhile no matter which is champion really, but I'd be inclined to root for Cena in this case.

I've been that guy before but it's only when the quality of the whole show declines. If Punk loses the match in a competitive contest it's not a big deal. How many times has Cena lost the belt? Besides, Punk already got some big wins over him.

Rock's going to be there too. Maybe he screws Cena out of the title and they set up a three way match for Summerslam?

What difference does Cena being the champion make? He's still on the show just as much. Pretty much. Title or no title, John Cena is still your main event. Silly WWE, putting their top draw in the prime position. Will they never learn?

Yes, the most popular wrestler in the company winning the title from a guy who has held it for 8 months would be the worst thing to ever happen in wrestling ever.
Jesus, wrestling fans sometimes...

I personally stopped watching the first time I saw a title change. To this day I have no awareness of what's happened since Demolition beat the Colossal Connection. I hope Hogan beat that no-good Warrior.

Oops, I read the OP wrong. I thought he was threatening to quit if Punk retained.

I hope Hogan beat that no-good Warrior. Hogan had to give up the title in 2002, but he did hold both the WWE & WCW world championships through two seperate boom periods. Then Cena was told to run him over as Vince was in a sulk over Hogan going off to film Suburban Commando 3. Hogan's had chronic crippling back problems since. Due to the horror of it all Hogan and Eric decided to shut down WCW in 2003 and they had a bit of a break. Then Hogan went to become the Jack Tunney of TNA and everything's been okay since.
