I haven't had cable since 2001. I got over it, and I haven't missed it for years.
Go with Netflix. Maybe Hulu as well.

Ugh, reading the blackout rules for MLB.tv and NHL GameCenter was quite depressing; I have no intentions of moving out of New Jersey, so outside of times I'm at the shore, all my Mets and Devils games (and even the Yankees, Rangers, and Islanders games I'll switch channels with on Fios) would be blacked out. There are ways around it, but they appear a tad on the risky/unethical side.
Still, I'm going to continue considering it. In a world (and specifically a state) where even just renting a decent place costs you every damn dollar you've got, it'd be nice to just shake off the shackles of the damn cable companies.

Well, I had cable for a while at my house. About a year in the five years I lived there. Then I lost my home thanks to Mother nature. By the end of the year I'll have a new house. Which I don't know what I'm going to do. I still want my local sports. Cardinals, Rams, and Blues. But before I had cable. I was all about DVDs and net stuff. Which was fine for 4 years.
I don't know because when I have people over. I have to entertain them somehow.
