I've been hoping for a Magnus heel turn for a while, him in a feud with Joe will be pretty good.

So that's why he couldn't compete last Sunday.

I think the boat is sailing on the pope. TNA let that boat sail since 2010 for some reason.

Big thing I like about the Magnus turn: even while he was teaming with Joe as a nominally face team, neither of them ever REALLY played babyface. Maybe not quite tweeners, but Magnus still presented himself as arrogant while the full extent of Joe's face-dom since earlier this summer has been offering an "ok, you got me" fist bump after Aries and Storm, respectively, beat him one-on-one.
Makes one of them flat-out turning much less jarring and much more natural.

This works well though, TNA need heels and this gives Magnus the chance to face some good guys and gain some experience.

Indeed, Magnus has a great chance to move up the ranks, and given his natural performing demeanor I don't see why he can't join Roode, Ray, Daniels, and Ion as heels the fans truly enjoy booing.
But yeah, on the larger point it's amazing how face/heel/tweener alignment has been done SO much better under the current booking team than under Russo and company. You can tell that once the new team took over (which I THINK was a little while before BFG last year, as they started transitioning to the new team, somebody correct me if I'm wrong) they immediately worked to turn Angle face, Roode and Daniels heel, etc., and try to keep them that way.
It's astounding that a company as maligned (and rightly so!) as TNA was for flip-flopping faces and heels so often has really sought to keep guys in established roles for awhile now, and not allow turns to feel overly forced or unnatural.

@tnadixie
Doug Williams has been brought in as a trainer for OVW. Can't wait for our developmental talent to benefit from his tremendous knowledge! _---------------- Well at least they are using him for something.

Williams would make a great trainer, but they should pay him good money to do it. Just like I said in the Hamada thread. Good talent doesn't, nor should come cheap.

I still think his initial twitter/facebook involvement and subsequent contract talk on those two sites have been a way to smokescreen the fact that he's the Aces and 8s leader. I wouldnt be surprised if the contract was settled a while back.
