People on YouTube were pointing out that during Rikishi's segment on Monday there was no acknowledgement of the Samoan Spike or Umaga at all, even though he was Rikishi's brother and it was a clear homage. So it looks like even a few years later, Umaga is still unperson'd, presumably due to the circumstances with how he left the company and his death.
Benoit goes without mentioning, but it seems that if someone left the WWE on bad or personal demons-related terms, or if their death was drug-related, they're unperson'd to a lesser extent no matter how prominent they were previously.
I know a lot of the more recent deaths have been lower card workers like Lance Cade, but for how prominent Umaga was for a few years, you'd have thought that by now they would've at least mentioned him in passing, in that segment. I don't even think he got an "In Memory" card.
I see this as slightly different from the "burned bridges" list with Raven, Jeff Jarrett, Chyna, etc, as a lot of this list would be people that are already dead, or otherwise not in a position to wrestle.
Granted, there aren't too many situations where names like this would come up, but still, as much as they like to tout their past, their revisionist history gets more and more blatant with each passing year.

These guys didn't even mention Eddie Guerrero when Vickie did her frog splash at Wrestlemania a few years ago.

Come to think of it, I don't think they've mentioned Macho once any time Punk's done the Savage Elbow. Nor do I think they mentioned anything when he wore the homage trunks.

Benoit is slowly sliding off the do not name list, sort of. Someone mentioned recently that the policy has evolved from "do not discuss at all" to "discuss his career, but do not celebrate it", a step closer to how things should be.

The Usos do the running hip strike in the corner like Umaga all the time, the announcers just say it's 'shades of Rikishi', but Rikishi didn't really do it when they were lying down in the corner like that, Umaga did.
Maybe they just find it depressing bringing up a dead wrestler?

These guys didn't even mention Eddie Guerrero when Vickie did her frog splash at Wrestlemania a few years ago. They were too busy talking about how fat Vickie was, and acting all "grossed out" over her, even though they commentate on guys in trunks and boots all day long.

Was Umaga really even all that prominent?
He never won a WWE or World title, right?
And was in like what...two main event feuds that he ended up coming out the loser in?

Umaga was prominent, and very over. He was one of the best people on the roster during his tenure, world champion or not...although I really wish they did give him a reign, he would've been amazing, and was billed amazingly. It's a shame all those drug problems occurred, because they were gearing him up for a face turn since the crowd was chanting for his signature and finishing manoeuvres near the end. RIP Umaga. =(

I remember when Punk did it once Lawler said something like 'that was savage!' Lame but that's the closest they've come to referencing it.

Not people, but supposedly banned terms:
Championship Belt Cities where tapings are held that aren't considered big enough to mention on TV *Wrestler/Wrestling
*Maybe not entirely banned, but the preferred term is "sports entertainer/sports entertainment"
