Wow, glad I made the decision to skip this one.

That show fell off a cliff in the last four fights and hit every rock on the way down.

Well, I like Renan Barao, so while the card overall sounds underwhelming, quite happy with that result, even if it wasn't the best fight.

The first 4 rounds of the main card were a lot of fun. f*** the rest of this card.

I for one am shocked that a card with so many injuries and random matches produced such a shitty night of fights

Boetsch apparently broke his foot in the 2nd round...which just makes Lombard look worse in my eyes.
Dana complaining like crazy at the press conference. Blaming Yves Lavinge over the Kongo/Jordon fight because "It's not the Ultimate Clinching Championship" or something along the like. Which is amusing considering how Rogan was applauding Lavinge for letting them "fight it out."
Also from Dana: "If you were booing the Faber/Barao fight, you're not a fan of MMA." As if the three long, drawn out, irritating fights beforehand hadn't already amped them to a state of dislike that only a Bonner/Griffin battle could have soothed.

Guess I'm not a fan of MMA then. It was an ok fight, but 135 pounders will never be a good way to end a card in my mind.

I do agree that the crappy fights beforehand did take some of the excitement out of the Faber/Barao fight. If it had an exciting fight before it, I do think it would've been better received.
At the end of this card, you would've needed a Sanchez/Guida level fight for the crowd to go home happy.

The prelims were great but the main card was s***house maximus and is a strong contender for the worst UFC event of 2012 so far.
But I'm surprised no one here noticed Bret Hart during Nick Ring's walkout.

That reminded me of the early UFC cards, where the main event would consist of two dudes in the missionary position for thirty minutes and Jim Brown would wonder why the fans were booing a "great technical match-up." Sorry, Dana, but seeing Faber hold Barao's hand while not engaging him was not a good fight. It was the first time I was almost put to sleep by a main event. Just admit the card was complete ****. Thank God Frankie Edger is on the next card. You know you'll get an exciting main event then.

Was anyone else thinking 'Never let go Jack" when they kept holding hands?

Dana needs to feel lucky that the casual UFC audience probably doesn't realize that he's kind of (maybe more than kind of) an asshole or he'd probably be looked down upon.

I still remember Dana complaining about Cain Velasquez's strategy (rightly ) when he lost to Junior Dos Santos and in doing so, putting down the new champion's cardio. I kept thinking "Way to put over the new champ, Dana." The man just doesn't think sometimes when he speaks.

The post-fight press conference was more interesting than the PPV. Mainly because I knew Dana would run his mouth about the officiating, the fighters, the fans, the internet and anyone else not named Dana White.
