DC is probably going to go on with their own cinematic universe and because Bale and Nolan are done with Batman there going to need a whole new cast and director. That sounds cool. I guess they saw the success with Marvel? I don't know. I am such a casual about these things.

Anyone else think to themselves as Batman was flying away with the bomb: "Su-per-man"? This why the films are going to have to cast aside for a reboot. {Spoiler}Even if they went the route of 'Robin' as Batman, Nolan's universe cannot support any of the other superheroes existing in it, else where the hell were they for the past six months?
Washing their tights ? Bane had {Spoiler}The Spear of Destiny?

Am I the only one confused at why Gordon was carrying his Harvey Dent speech with him in the sewers?

Washing their tights? [/spoilers] I think he more meant along the lines of the end of the movie "The Iron Giant." Yep. But... since Superman was deemed Canon in Begins, what the hell Kryptonian?

What would you guys say to a book about the eight years leading up to The Dark Knight Rises? I mean, it's well known Nolan's done with the films, but there's still a lot left to be told. I doubt Christopher Nolan would write the books, but I could see Jonathan Nolan, the co-writer of TDK, TDKR and Memento, giving us some new stuff. Specifically, I'd like to read a little bit about what happened to the mob guys, like Maroni, cops, like the woman who got knocked-out by Dent, in TDK, and, mostly, the Joker. All little things that weren't addressed in the film, but would be interrsting to know.

Ah, cancel that, I could have sworn I remembered Alfred making reference to a flying guy in Metropolis.

I was pretty let down. Pretty decent movie, not a very good Batman movie. It seemed like all the time I was thinking "they could have done that better". Also Bale being out acted by everyone hurts it. But considering he was a supporting character, I guess it was ok. Also we finally get Batman having an all out fight with a villain and not scrubs and he pretty much gets destroyed each time. Not much of a fighter really.
This movie had too much going on, much like Spider-man 3.
Batman retired/comes back/gets broke/comes back/dies
Blake had a hero's journey
Catwoman's redemption tale
Bane's Bane Show staring Bane (it was his movie, make no mistake)
Gordon's Arc
That dips*** police captain who lead the charge on Bane (I swear this tool had more screen time than Batman)
The Talia twist (which I figured out as soon as she said she was poor once).
This movie needed to scale back and give some breathing room. Use Blake more and scrub Catwoman. Have Bruce dating Talia before the movie starts so when she turns it has more impact.
After Bruce is broke have him left on the steps of Wayne manor, where Blake finds him, then he dons the cape and cowl as Bruce guides him from the cave ala Batman Beyond.
It simplifies it all. And all I wanted all movie long was to see Blake in the mask. That would have made the movie for me. Hell, he came off as a way bigger hero than Bruce did.
I also don't think it needed the nuke at all, that was too big for the Nolan universe. Plus, while Bruce may have lived, Bane won, he ran him out of the city he swore to protect, and the fallout from the bomb probably means everyone has to move. So Talia and Bane may have died, but they accomplished their goals. Hell, once Bane took over Gotham he had won as the city was not going to recover from that for a long time, if ever.

Do you guys think a child would enjoy Rises? I'm thinking of seeing it Friday, but I'd have to take my brother with me and he doesn't exactly know a lot about Batman.

Saw this last night with my brother and Void. Just fantastic. Left the theater at 1 am without sleep for more than 24 hours, and I wasn't even remotely tired after leaving.

To be fair, Bale has been out-acted by nearly everyone in all 3 of the films. Bale's a good actor(just see American Psycho for that), it is just he didn't bring his A game to The Dark Knight Trilogy.

I dunno, I thought he hit it out of the park in this one. In TDK, he was just too Batmanish when he was Bruce Wayne, and BB was the other way round. He got the balance in DKR, imo.

Just did a bit of reading, apparently those stuck up art house goons in The Academy weren't impressed. Clearly, it needed more foreign languages and convoluted going-nowhere plots
