Gee. You open a poll before the second fight and the majority vote for the guy who won the first fight. MAN, WHO WOULD SEE THAT COMING?!

Yeah if Dana sticks to his word Machida should definitely get the shot.

Has Vera even gotten back to his feet yet? Yeah, they hugged. Not sure about Bader though. Unconfirmed report: Bader has awoken and seems disappointed that he lost to Tito Ortiz. People are now filling him in on the time that was lost from the KO.

Wait, is Dan Henderson a Legend Killer or a Legendary Killer?
Oh well.

Man hopefully this one gets good ratings because this was an awesome night of fights. They might win a few new fans.

The best card they had in months. I totally agree with Machida getting the title shot. Shogun's fight was thrilling but his conditioning sucks and he was almost out of it a couple of times. Not that I think either of them have a shot against Jones but if I had to pick between the two, I would go Machida. Of course, I'd rather go with Anderson Silva. Anyway, I enjoyed every fight. Machida/Bader wasn't much but featured a great knockout. Shogun/Vera was a big, enjoyable brawl.

Since when Dan Henderson turned into Randy Orton when Dana White said he's a "legend killer"? Will Henderson win the title via \__0_/ ? There's only one way to find out...

So, after that fight, I gotta ask....do we still show Vera the door here? Or do we give him one more chance to make good? Because he ALMOST won me over tonight.

He pulled a performance similar to Patrick Coté's in UFC 148 against Cung Le were he wasn't meant to look as good as they did. I say book Vera versus Bader on a small show and work from there because Brandon Vera threw everything at Shogun and he almost pulled the upset. Either that or Shogun tried his hardest to make his opponent look good.

That was a great main card. Mike Swick had a nice return to the UFC, the Lauzon/Varner fight was fantastic, and Brandon Vera proved he has the ability to suck less when he sets his mind to it. Also, props to Ryan Bader for walking into Machida's right hand (Stephen Seagal taught him that move btw). Can't wait to see the next big light-heavyweight tilt at UFC 158: Machida vs. Unconsciousness. Should be a good one.

I think that as long as a fighter puts on a good and entertaining fight, he's safe. Vera did a pretty damn good job, and i believe Dana will not release him.

It's not going to happen but I wouldn't have minded seeing Machida/Shogun III.

They'll never do this since he's probably their biggest draw but since they're not doing Jones vs Silva, they should consider putting Jones/Machida II at the main event of the next Fox card, providing Henderson doesn't pull a miracle out of his ***. Jones might be coming off some bad publicity with the DUI arrest but he's still a big name you'd like to throw out there and I can't imagine increasing PPV buys by from him beating up Machida again. I saw Jones/Machida should main event a future Fox card.

I saw Jones/Machida should main event a future Fox card. While I doubt UFC would give the fight away for free, it does make me wonder if they have a clause in their contract with FOX to air atleast one title match on their shows a year? It would actually make sense for this to be on FOX if that is the case. I think people might be hesitant to pay for it, considering the knockout last time, but Machida/Jones will still be a solid draw for them. But if the match ends up being good and on free tv, it could really help draw for a third match, especially if Machida wins(which is highly unlikely). The only other title matches I could see on FOX are Aldo beating someone down(doesn't matter, no one in that division can beat him) or Silva's next title defense, since it won't be a big name if a deserving contender gets the match(either Weidman or Boetsch). Although Silva's defense will probably be on the UFC in Rio card in January, where I will be looking more forward to see who Erick Silva gets to destroy.

Finally caught this on my buddies' DVR. Good stuff.
If you'd have told me that Rua v Vera would result in one of the most exciting fights I've seen in a while, I'd not have believed you.
Kinda sucks Truth lost (who I've never really liked), as he was doing the damn thing. He looked very much unlike the jobber he's appeared to be these past few years.
Also, bonus Machida evasive Karate douchebaggery. I wish I could go to his gym. I would just like to see if I were physically capable of landing a good punch on him or not. I doubt it. He really is pretty amazing.

I think Jones and Machida will draw good as well. But eventually, they're going to have to find a new opponent for Jones. Putting a title fight on TV would be a great idea. But I think you'd have to go with a Jones or Silva defense.
