Thanks. I usually catch a few films off TCM each October.

Checking out American Horror Story: 1984 as it debuts on FX right now. Anybody else checking it out? First five minutes is an attempted threesome interrupted by a slasher killer!

"Cruel Summer" also played over the end credits of another modern slasher homage: THE FINAL GIRLS.

So far this is hitting all the familiar beats of a vintage FRIDAY THE 13TH flick. Only with the budget for hit songs of the era and some "it's the 80s, get it?!" references.

Camp director being a survivor of a slasher killer is an interesting wrinkle.

That was fine enough. Though I wonder if this season will be a standard issue slasher movie stretched out across 10 hours or if there'll be more to it.

PRetty sure it is gonna be on Hulu the day after they air,so gonna try to watch it tomorrow. Haven't watched AHS since a few episodes into whatever season was set in NOLA. Keep seeing trailers for the new AHS season on Hulu and it looks great.

Season 1 was decent. Season 2 was really good. Season 3 lost me and I gave up. If you got Hulu,I think it is Hulu, all the previous seasons are on it. Give 2 a watch it is really fun and odd. Got on a Horror Hotel, some Ohio based horror host show, airing of Don't Look in the Basement. This has to be my favorite "public domain" 70s horror.

Re: AHS, IMO almost every season has its good qualities. Except Cult. Cult is a slog.
It was highly entertaining to see our hapless little archetypes violating slasher flick rules left and right. If a drinking game was made, people would've been hammered before the hour was out.

Dang, I love TCM most of the year but specially in October. All those Godzilla movies, all of my other favorites (Like "Curse of the Demon" and "The Haunting"), a few I haven't seen and have been looking for ("Kuroneko" - Well, there are a million movies with similar/same title... but this one in particular), and then some completely weird but fun choices (Like "Ghoulies" of all things!). Its gonna supplement the stockpile I've been accumulating and the various other channels to watch so well... Oh man, I don't know if I'm going to have time to sleep! lol

Currently watching 1981's Video Nasty stalwart Nightmare and it reminds me that, wow, '80's movies loved their sarcastic, prankster kid brothers.
Think of Molly Ringwald's smartass little brother in Sixteeen Candles except there are ten thousand of him.

I really wish I could figure out how to add channels to my Spectrum account (don't have TV, just have Internet and their digital package) because I need to add back TCM, which isn't in my lineup. If not, guess, I gotta start my SlingTV account again.

The gore effects are great and the acting is way better than I anticipated.
