I would love it if they brought in some of the people from Chuck to be teachers at Subway University. Just imagine Jeffster there..... {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} I had a ridiculous theory that Pierce was actually Ted Roark, who instead of being killed, was reprogrammed with a brand new identity (including a backstory!) and was shipped off to community college for some reason. Granted, it would make no sense, but considering Community's first season aired after he was supposedly "killed" on Chuck,,or maybe i was just hoping for a crossover That's absolutely brilliant. And he's called back in action hence his "death" on community

I thought the best part of last night's episode was in the first scene, not to say it was a bad episode but the part where the Dean accidentally addressed the school was hilarious.

I've seen 3 episodes of COMMUNITY. G.I. Jeff, and the season (which sure seemed like a series) finale. .......and I think I need to see it all now. Has Abed always been breaking the 4th wall like this?! Has Annie always been freakin' adorable?! How did they make me like Ken Jeong for more than 10 minutes?! Was the show as good as this when Chevy Chase was around, who sucks the life out and injects the shit into most of what he's done for the last 20 years?!

Not my favorite episode of the season, by far.

Felt a bit rushed but it was fine. This season overall was really solid. Harmon coming back truly made a difference. One season to go and they can start focusing on that movie.

Last night's finale felt to me like Dan Harmon whipping out his big brass balls and daring NBC to cancel the show

Its just this episode just kind of felt like a "gas leak" episode to me with Duncan getting shocked like a cartoon and the whole hidden treasure/Howard Hughes thing. I dunno, it was a bit too...meta? I guess.

Hopefully, one of those shows becomes a mid-season replacement(I'm pulling for Mr. Egypt).

I would've been happier if the season were only 10 episodes, because I enjoyed the first 10 far more than the last 3. The finale was at least the strongest of those 3 for me, though.

I guess. That's a good way to put it. It jumped all over the place, went a bit too out there and it just wasn't clicking for me. I actually thought they were going to fail and be forced out into the "real world". I figured that would be a good setup for the next season.

Him adn Shirley were always the most hit an dmiss for me, but he had some great moments.

I really liked the finale, a lot more than other people it seems. Though I have liked this season as a whole, and I think we can all safely say that this has been a successful return for Harmon and the show itself. The heart and soul is back and stronger than ever. I loved that like anticonscience said, he was almost challenging NBC to try and cancel it, and see the uproar now that we are getting so close to the famous sixseasonandamovie. A year ago on the last season it hurt to see the direction that the new show runners tried to take it in, it just didn't work and it didn't feel like community. They left Community on its dying breath (not through lack of trying the opposite, I can respect them for trying but they were always on the losing end when trying to take over the creator/main visionary of the show) to which I though it would never come back from. Say what you will about Harmon on the way he acts outside of the show sometimes, but you can't deny his creative force and this season is truly exhibit A to show for that. Having Jonathon Banks come in was a brilliant move, the guy can do no wrong and is doing extremely well. He has so much momentum from both Breaking Bad and Community in the past couple of years I really think he is far far from the end of his career, and that he will hopefully get a couple of movie roles or two again like he deserves. He fits perfectly with the show and I hope to see him next season and in the movie. It's also been great to have Professor Duncan back as well, what a top notch bloke! I think the future is bright guys and we are back on track, now more than ever.

It wasn't my favorite Community season finale (that was Season 3's), but I still enjoyed it a lot.
As much as I love Abed's girlfriend, I get the feeling he's going to (or should) end up with Annie. The "I have a girlfriend" thing was a more obvious indicator, but there have been a few times where the two of them looked like they had interest before breaking it off. They made out when Abed was Han Solo during a paintball episode, they looked like they were going to kiss when Abed dressed as Batman, and in the dreamatorium episode he seemed really committed to playing Jeff and making out with Annie.
I think it's similar to the "Floor is Lava" episode, where Abed can't handle having feelings for her, so he only really lets it out when he's playing a character.

I think the future is bright guys and we are back on track, now more than ever. The most telling image from this season of Community, which basically sums up the show at this point, is the image of Abed skulking around the halls of Greendale in a Kickpuncher costume by himself. Yeah, it's quirky and funny, but there's nobody around to really care about what Abed is doing, to even let alone see what he's doing (the ratings still suck for the show, sadly, but that's typical of NBC's shows tout court). The only person who was at Greendale at that moment Abed was doing his schtick was Hickey, a cranky old white guy who was basically a substitute for Dan Harmon in that episode--a misunderstood and maligned man who is also stuck in his own little world like Abed. There were several episodes from this season that had they been in the last season would have been ripped apart (Asscrack Bandit, the hot lava game, MeowMeowBeans, Basic Story) because it was the 'gas leak' year. Did Jeff becoming a teacher at Greendale even matter at all this season beyond the first two episodes? Nope. Community was already showing signs of falling apart when it came back from hiatus during its Season 3 run, and it hasn't really recovered since. This season is better than last season's, undoubtedly, but it's the worst season under Dan Harmon's watch. The show really doesn't need a sixth season, let alone really deserve one, and I say this as a huge Community fan.

I do agree with this. Season 5 got more praise than it deserved because Harmon was back (though I also feel like Season 4 got more scorn than it deserved because he was gone). And, while I liked the season finale, I still feel like the show peaked back at, like, Season 2. I would like to see a Season 6 (hopefully a full season rather than the truncated ones we've gotten the past 2 years), but if an asteroid destroys all of human civilization, I'll be less bummed than I thought I would be a couple years ago.
