They had a European before as Champion, but never someone who was VERY European. One thing I like about Cesaro as Champion is simply the fact that he won a bunch of matches, got a title shot, and won the title. He won it, because he's very good at winning matches. What a concept.
Miz won tonight, but he has lost almost every match since becoming champion, and most of his matches all year. Cesaro didn't have the competition that Miz did, but Miz still didn't deserve the title shot, let alone the title.
So it's great to see someone who wins matches win a Championship. A novel concept. And I hope this continues, and that winning a title doesn't turn you into a complete jobber.

Turn it into the European Championship so we can forever establish that IC > US in terms of prestige. I don't know if the European Title will be brought back, but I saw Cesaro's win coming a mile away. Miz, a "RAW Superstar" won the Intercontinental Championship. Santino needed to drop the U.S. Title to a SmackDown guy. Each brand now has a "World Title" and a midcard title for touring. So now what we have are the WWE-created belts on RAW, the Flagship show, and the NWA/WCW leftovers on SD, the B-show. |

Hell, the TNA TV Title is miles more important then the IC Title, just due to the fact that those champions win matches for the most part. |

So if Santino woe have hit the cobra without the sock on,would it have had no effect? Imo, that was the only thing bad about the match. I really like the Cobra as a legit finisher, but hate the Cobra Sock. A large chunk of the match psychology went towards the sock. The commentators were even SELLING the sock. |

So now what we have are the WWE-created belts on RAW, the Flagship show, and the NWA/WCW leftovers on SD, the B-show. I think its been like that before, with the addition of the World Tag on RAW, WWE Tag on Smackdown, Womens belt on RAW, divas on Smackdown. At least, thats how I do it in WWE 12. |

But they're losing all their matches. Christian was beating some people, which was good, but he lost some too and losing to the Miz I think just plummeted the title. And it's nothing against Miz, it's how he's booked. When he won at Wrestlemania I thought, maybe he's on the fast track to some more wins. Nothing. Oh, he's back, maybe he'll win some matches now. Nothing. Oh, HE'S THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION, he has to win more matches now. Still nothing. I was legit surprised Miz won tonight. If he actually wins matches, I could see it. But I guess to me, the IC Title means very little or nothing. I guess with the US Title being won by Cesaro, I saw hope and potential and a bright future, and not just because I like him, but because he wins matches, which leads to him winning titles. |

I laughed pretty hard at Striker selling that Santino's offence was somehow weaker without the sock.
Glad that he picked up the win though, maybe now they'll change that god-awful theme music.
