Honestly? Short jokes? You guys are better than that. You're right. It's a tall order, but I'm going to be the bigger person and rise above it.

When you are a dwarf or anyone with something that makes you that different from the pack, it can be extremely hard to get parts.
I can understand the frustration.
Acting is a very hard business in all forms whether it's theater or film. Parts are very hard to come by so when there is something that you qualify for and CGI pretty much makes you useless, it can be kinda difficult.

Fantasy dwarves are not really imagined as medical dwarfism. If we want to get really realistic do they want the characters to complain about various hip problems and such? I understand that it's frustrating but if I had dwarfism and was an actor I'd be more complaining about nobody writing non-stereotypical roles than for anything else.

The guy lost all credibility when the article referred to him as a "self proclaimed midget". That's considered very un-PC now, and is really no different then starting an article with "so and so is a self proclaimed n*****" or "Joey, a self proclaimed f*****," neither of which I'd take seriously.
Especially when claiming you're being discriminated against.

Especially when claiming you're being discriminated against. Meh. Midget is in no way comparable to n*****. It's what they were openly called for decades without malice until someone decided to change the name. It was never a term meant to cast insult or hurt unlike the latter. "Little person" is a made up buzz word like so many others lately. I myself refuse to say "Little person", because I think it's contrived. And besides, as I said, "Little Person" is way worse than midget.

Saying "Little Person" is as condescending to me as calling every guy with dark skin an "African American". Assuming that every black guy's family comes from Africa just so don't offend him by calling him black is just idiot and overly PC to a point of being pointless.
Why call them anything different at all? They are regular people who suffer from a medical deformity. To call them "Little Person" is just pointing out that deformity unnecessarily in the first place.

I always looked at Hobbits as like 5 footers at most, so i didn't mind elijah and crew there. For dwarves though, I feel it's more directly implied that these guys are supposed to shrimps, so I can see their issue there. But as was stated before CGI runs the movie world nowadays, that's why i stick to Romero and 80's movies , cuz that stuff still **** all over today's digital wonders
