I got ya now!, it doesn't sound like the child was upset, and I highly doubt that her missing homework was a secret in the class so she couldn't have been all that embarrassed.
By the way, I hate Joffrey....stupid good actors..though I didn't know he was 20.

why would even the local media bother with a story this miniscule? That's the real problem, why would they even report this story.

why would even the local media bother with a story this miniscule? That's the real problem, why would they even report this story. If you look at 4 of their big stories on their website, it paints a pretty clear picture OVPD searching for aggravated assault suspect - 0 Comments Missing: Isabel Celis - Chief Villasenor: "We will find out" - 4 Comments Urban Coyotes: Get used to it, but be prepared - 0 Comments 16-year-old injured, dumped in alley, left to die - 2 Comments This story - 81 Comments News outlets are businesses, and as much as people might hate these stories, they garner 20 times the interest of even the hard news stories (and I'd guarantee you that as many or more people are on the side of the mother here). It's not about there being a slow news day (being a former reporter, I can tell you that even on busy news days, we'd still do stories like this because they'd get more views than most murder or accident stories I worked on), it's because they operate on ad revenue and have to report on the stories that get public interest. And by talking about it, we only contribute to the response.

Maybe the teacher was giving awards to all the children and this little girl didn't do anything to deserve one so she made up the "catastrophe award" so the little girl wouldn't feel left out.
did anyone else in class get an award? what were they for? If it became news every time a parent was upset with a teacher we'd be reading these stories every day.
One time in science class a student teacher decided during the class to read my failed test scores in front of everyone. I took it upon myself to tell him to shut up. When he asked me what I said I again said to shut up. After that I told him what he was doing was wrong and I demanded an apology. At first he refused and I let him know if he really had aspirations to be a teacher that kind of treatment wouldn't keep him his job very long. He apologized in front of the class. I didn't need to get my parents, the principal or the news involved. Last I heard my class was what made him decide he didn't want to be a teacher after all.

Typical. Bad parent feels bad because it turns out she hasn't been doing her job properly in making sure her kid is doing the homework on time then gets grumpy because, surprise surprise, someone noticed. Get over it love. Except she wont, the poor teacher will lose her job, the kid will learn they can get away with making excuses and then crying to mummy and I wouldn't be shocked to see this woman demanding a cash payout at some point.

I'm a parent, and I gotta say that if my kid was giving excuses nonstop for not handing in homework, this is well deserved. It's not like she gave her the smelliest bowel movement award. That's a far more prestigious award than you think.

There were some really good comments on Yahoo pointing out that while the teacher might have embarrassed the kid in front of the class, the mother embarrassed her in front of the whole country.

I am so very disappointed in you guys. How do we go two pages and no one makes a crack about her being Ms. Plowman?
If ever a teacher should be in adult films, this is her.
