Cool, James Storm got the belt. He deserves it. So did Roode, but I'll take it. But...did they really leave Roode off the show? WTF? He didn't even come out and cut a promo? He was there, as he came out with Fortune to celebrate Storm's win. He probably did have something after, either live or pre-taped.

When I was a teen I saw Storm wrestle at an old auction building here in Tennessee. He looked really different then, but seemed like a nice guy. I'm happy for him.

Part of me wonders if this is part of an effort to keep Beer Money from jumping ship to the WWE. Weren't there rumors of that not that long ago?

A possible reason that he didnt is that he had a bum shoulder going into No Surrender. They might not have been sure if it would have healed in time, or that he could deliver at BFG with it. Who knows, but its a possibility.

The good thing about this is, you can just watch the last 10 mins of Impact and pretend the first 1hr50mins didn't happen. ~

So basically they put the title on a career tag wrestler who has never shown any signs of being a singles success and while he did finish in the Final 4 of the BFG Series, never really won a notable singles match in the Series?

Let me just say I think it's awesome Storm is champ, and I hope they run with it. MAJOR props to TNA for giving Storm the Big Belt, and I hope it comes off awesomely on TV. But I'll say what I said in the other thread:
The way I feel about this is the same way I would've felt if, as some speculated would happen, Daniel Bryan cashed in on Christian on the Smackdown after MITB and won the WHC, giving Christian another two-day reign. They would have found a way where I wouldn't have been able to feel the JOY of BRYAN FREAKIN' DANIELSON at last being world champ in WWE because of the circumstances & consequences behind it.
Like others have said, I WANT to mark...but it just feels so wrong. They robbed us of a big moment to give us another moment, albeit that is NOWHERE NEAR as big as it could've been because of the circumstances. Hell, if it was Angle/RVD last night and THEN Storm won the belt, I'd be all over this, and proclaiming TNA the second coming. But to build up Roode only to make it clear the guy the fans had gotten behind wasn't trusted by management to be "THE" guy via Hogan's comments and an AWFUL anticlimax to BFG, to deny fans that catharsis and then half-assedly make up for it in a way that makes it clear that they're going to turn Roode into TNA's Christian, a heel that the fans didn't want to be turned heel, and making it look like a BS corporate decision called by Hogan, who wanted Storm over Roode. And that's not how James Storm's title win should've happened.
Hell, I'd have been okay if they built Storm to it in a month the same way they did Roode, saying he's ready for it, boyhood dream, all that...and then have him DO IT, watch the confetti fall, and please all the TNA Day One fans at last. The way they DID do it was meaningless. It just sorta happened. "Oh, Storm's champion now." They robbed us of TWO great moments in 48 hours, and I'm not very happy over that.
Sigh. At least we'll be getting (at least one) Storm/Roode PPV main event now. And who knows, maybe TNA is going somewhere amazing from here. I won't say it's impossible. I'm just saying that up to this point, TNA has screwed the pooch tremendously.

"He's not ready, brother." Seriously, so what happened tonight basically proves every dirtsheet reporter right about the ending to Title match at BFG being changed. What's more surprising, is that Hogan said that he think's Jame Storm is more ready, and Storm is now TNA Champion. I've been all behind TNA pushing their own talent, but to hotshot everything only because Hulk Hogan doesn't agree with it is just so stupid and egotistical on Hogan's part. TNA has to learn to have the special moments for PPV's, because that's what makes people want to watch more. Also, this is very WCW like, "hey, the match didn't end clean, so what it for free on television! It's give us ratings!" Congratulations to James Storm. Let's just hope that he doesn't end up like Ken Anderson and loses the belt back to Kurt Angle in a month, or to Jeff Hardy. What's obvious is that Bobby Roode will turn heel now, and feud with his former friend. Yes, the guy they built up as a big face character, who was getting over, and won the BFG series, will now be a heel.

There was a dirt sheet mention of Triple H eying Beer Money for the Tag division. It's been in the back of my mind since Roode started getting the push during the Bound For Glory Series.

It's funny. I should be really happy that James Storm is World champion. And a big part of me is really happy that the Cowboy got the title.
But they booked Roode up so well that this just doesn't make any sense to me. I will try to stay optimistic as best I can though.

I'm just curious if they pulled this out of their ass to appease the fans and talent or if the original play was for Roode to win and Storm beat him for it the next night setting up the implosion of Fortune.

I don't mind Storm as champ but why have that build for Roode only to screw him yet again by letting someone else win the title makes no sense and makes the whole BFG points system a total joke(Which it was from the get go)

When has TNA's goal ever been to appease the fans? If they wanted to do that, Roode would've won at BFG.
