September 21st Newswire
- Ring of Honor’s return to Chicago on October 16th is starting to taking shape. The main event will see Davey Richards vs. Christopher Daniels (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/six-months-in-the-making/). It has been six long months since the original challenge was made. This could be one of the best matches to hit Chicago Ridge in some time. Tickets are on sale right here at ROHWrestling.com.
- It was announced earlier today (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/world-tag-team-titles-on-the-line-in-dayton/) that at the Montgomery County Fairgrounds in Dayton on October 15th the ROH World Tag Team Titles will be on the line. The Kings of Wrestling, with Shane Hagadorn in their corner, will face Davey Richards and Christopher Daniels! ROH officials elected to team the top two contenders for the World Title in a special dream tag team match. Both Daniels and Richards are former ROH World Tag Team Champions, and it’s obvious they have the credentials to challenge for the belts. Factor in the KoW constant claims to being the greatest tag team in history, and ROH officials felt it was appropriate to put Hero & Claudio to the test. Add in the impending singles match between Davey & Daniels the next night in Chicago Ridge, and the intrigue to this championship bout only rises. Tickets for Dayton are now on sale here.
- Ring of Honor will be introducing a new concept in Dayton and Chicago on October 15th and 16th. The ROH Trial Series will debut putting a young wrestler in a position to test ability, value, and passion through a series of 5 matches over a 3 month period against established Ring of Honor wrestlers. A young wrestler will be selected to get a real opportunity to shine and make a name for himself. More information on the first competitor is coming soon!
- We have even more news regarding Dayton and Chicago. Just signed for both events are The Briscoe Brothers.
- Ring of Honor returns to Philadelphia for the final time in 2010 next weekend on Friday, October 1st and Saturday, October 2nd for back-to-back days of HDNet TV Tapings. It was announced earlier today (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/homicide-returns-to-philadelphia/) that “The Notorious 187″ Homicide will be in action both days. We can now add the following talent to both events: ROH World TV Champion Eddie Edwards, The All Night Express (Rhett Titus and Kenny King), The Embassy (Necro Butcher, Eric Stevens, and Shawn Daivari with Prince Nana), Daizee Haze, Sara Del Rey (10/1 only), Kevin Steen, and El Generico. Expect matches for the tapings to be announced within days. Get your tickets for both shows right today.
- -Colt Cabana has made it known to ROH officials that he wants to end his war with Steve Corino once and for all in his hometown of Chicago on October 16th.
- Daizee Haze will have a message on her future in ROH as a result of the recent actions to Delirious by The All Night Express tomorrow on ROHwrestling.com.
- There are only a few spots remaining for the ROH Tryout/Training Seminar taking place on Sunday, October 3rd at the ROH Training Academy. Check out this article (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/ring-of-honor-announces-training-seminartryout-camp/) for all the details, and if you’re serious, be sure to get your spot reserved before it’s too late.

Daizee Haze With Words On Her Future Delirious has been my buddy and focus for quite some time and he finally won the war with Austin Aries when he beat him in their cage match. We attained our goal and Delirious came out victorious, but the aftermath that ensued would tell a different story as Rhett Titus and Kenny King left the man I stood beside out of action indefinitely. The actions of King and Titus have left me in a state of transition. I’m not one to stop fighting for what I believe in. I do not believe in the thought processes or actions of The All Night Express, but I cannot fight that battle by myself and have been advised to move on. As hard as it’s going to be to put those good times and triumphs that I shared with Delirious behind me, it’s going to be just as hard to move forward letting my problems with Titus and King go. So I must accept the things I cannot change, yet tackle the things I can: my own battles as a female in Pro Wrestling. Professional wrestling has always been male dominated- and it always will be. It’s pretty much a 98/2 ratio of male to female and that slight 2% consists only of the very elite female fighters of the sport: myself and Sara Del Rey. We have conquered the women’s wrestling scene in ROH and around the world. I imagine Sara feels the same way as I do. We are the best on the planet and want the best competition- but not one-on-one against each other for once. Sara and I have wrestled all over the world going back and forth trading wins and losses. We’ve been opponents, we’ve been allies, and no matter what the situation we’ve dominated and destroyed any attempt to challenge our skills. We’ve been there and done that. So, now I am calling out to the ROH officials, demanding new challenges. I know Sara must feel the same. I am a fighter, a warrior. I spend every waking hour training and preparing myself for my next test. I am not a model or have dreams to be anything more. I have wrestled all over the world for almost 9 years and have never taken time off. I’m an athlete and pro wrestling is in my blood. I need a confrontation that will push me to my limits, and while Del Rey has been one to do that, I demand someone new to challenge my craft. Bring me a fight. Bring me any woman wrestler that has the talent to stand up to the dominance of the Women of Honor and I will show them what being a true wrestler is about. I will aggressively destroy any female wrestler who enters ROH once the bell sounds. I want to show that I am the best and prove that any woman who enters Ring of Honor will not be taken lightly. ROH is a level of wrestling above any other. My goal in ROH right now is to wrestle the best women’s athletes in the sport today. So search high and low, but don’t come back empty handed. Bring me a battle to overcome so I can continue to prove I am the best. I will fight with pure sportsmanship and honor to show the world that only the strongest and most determined can survive in the most Elite Pro Wrestling Company in the World- Ring of Honor. Del Rey and I will probably never see eye to eye, but I guarantee that she agrees with me on this. Fighting for Opportunities, D.Haze

Six Months In The Making As The Fallen Angel Makes Time Stand Still Christopher Daniels vs. Davey Richards on September 16th at Chicago Ridge, IL is a match that was born out of a mutual desire. Last April, at the Big Bang iPPV, the Fallen Angel shocked the wresting world with his surprise appearance and delivered a passionate message… he would finally claim his spot as the Best Wrestler in the World by winning the ROH World Championship. Of course, who can forget that Daniels made that proclamation while interrupting Richards’ similar stated goal… the American Wolf believes he is the best but needs the hardware to prove it. Davey’s recent sit-down interview with Jim Cornette, seen during Glory By Honor IX and ROH on HDNet, said it all. You can’t be the best without the ROH World Championship. This match is indicative of one thing that sets ROH apart from any other promotion. With Richards vs. Daniels, there are no titles up for grabs and no personal issue to settle but it is expected to deliver at the box office, a testament to the respect fans have for both competitors as well as seeing the match that was first imagined when Christopher Daniels interrupted Davey Richards back in April at the Big Bang. What has made me want to see this match even more is how physically impressive Christopher Daniels has been in his ROH return. I have been pleasantly surprised to see the passionate focus from a ROH pioneer. Daniels has fought every match like it’s his last as the Fallen Angel looks to accomplish the only major honor left for him to win. When you are a top-flight athlete, time is a fickle friend. While your experience is invaluable, the years take their toll. Time slips away slowly and is impossible to recapture but hard work in the gym and the right mental approach can provide addition in the face of subtraction. But ROH in the latter half of 2010 is much different than the company was 12 months ago. The seemingly singular chase of Tyler Black toward Austin Aries has been replaced with a multi-headed monster of challengers focused on Roderick Strong. And while he fights Father Time, Daniels’ true enemy toward the gold could be timing. Davey Richards and Homicide are part of a star-studded class of challengers and you can’t forget an angry, motivated Roderick Strong, who looks to prove that his win at Glory By Honor IX is the start of the Strong Era, as Roddy looks to shut his critics up once and for all. With the countdown on to Chicago Ridge and September 16th, the matchup between Christopher Daniels and Davey Richards has so much on the line for both men but for the Fallen Angel, it seems that time is on his side. But what will happen in this matchup that has taken six months to get in the ring?

Andy "Right Leg" Ridge Chosen To Participate In ROH's 1st Trial Series The ROH Trial Series will put a young wrestler in a position to test their ability, their value, and their passion through a series of five matches over a three month period against established Ring of Honor wrestlers. After an individual wrestler’s Trial Series is completed he will be evaluated by ROH Officials as well as by fans on rohwrestling.com. A decision will then be made on that wrestler’s significance to the ROH roster based off their win-loss record, fan interest, skill, talent, and heart. The Trial Series will debut on October 15th in Dayton, OH and continue the next day in Chicago, IL and the first competitor selected to compete is Andy “Right Leg” Ridge! Andy Ridge was raised in Staten Island, New York and developed an interest in Professional Wrestling and Martial Arts at a young age. Ridge, growing up a pro wrestling fan, decided to enter the Ring of Honor Academy in late 2008, looking to follow in the footsteps of his inspirations: Low Ki & KENTA. Ridge made his in-ring debut shortly after he graduated the Academy in early 2009 and impressed. His martial arts training immediately proved valuable in the wrestling ring as it helped in the development of a strong superkick and great body control. Ridge has recently excelled in Pro Wrestling Respect displaying all the tools necessary to compete in Ring of Honor. His hard work and impressive matches have earned him the opportunity to test his ability against some of the top ROH wrestlers and try to earn their respect. The pressure will be on this young athlete as he has earned a shot but now we will see if he can make an impression and earn a spot. Check back here at www.rohwrestling.com as Ridge’s first two opponents will be named shortly, and read below for a brief bio on this young competitor. The Attempted Murder of El Generico “I’ll never forget it man…the look in his eyes when we got to the back. Without his mask, it’s like…something just snapped…” – Colt CabanaWith their arms raised in victory, El Generico and Colt Cabana had come a long way since that fateful December night in New York City. In the nine months following Final Battle 2009, ROH fans witnessed many twists and turns, as well as some of the bloodiest bouts in ROH history, in the emotional roller coaster ride that the war between El Generico and Kevin Steen has turned out to be. Emotional roller-coaster ride may seem like a strange way to describe this feud but it really is quite fitting. From the heartwrenching betrayal felt by Generico after Steen turned his back on 6 years of friendship, to the uplifting efforts of Colt Cabana to help Generico get back on track, to the sick and disturbed actions and words put forth by Steen and his mentor Steve Corino, the events that preceeded Glory By Honor IX seemingly brought all four men to a boiling point that couldn’t possibly get any higher…or could it? The Dual Chain Match was supposed to be the match to finally break the bond once and for all. The end. For a brief instant, with El Generico and Colt Cabana standing over a bloodied Steve Corino, it appeared that demons had been conquered. The expression on their faces certainely seemed to indicate that they had finally gotten what they wanted ever since this whole ordeal started…redemption. An air of satisfaction, pride and most of all, relief took over the Manhattan Center until Kevin Steen emerged once again. Steen sent Cabana out of the ring and attempted to remind Generico of what had happened some nine months ago by trying to hit his former partner with a steel chair. Generico, however, was not ready to let Steen ruin this triumphant moment. With all the fight that was left in him, Generico turned the tide and managed to get Steen in position for the Turnbuckle Brainbuster. Steve Corino attempted to save his partner but was met with a boot to the face for his efforts. As the fired up luchador turned to go for the kill, Steen shocked the world by ripping off El Generico’s mask, which left him with no other choice but to run to the back while hiding his face as best as he could. According to Steen, the timing was not coincidental. “In December 2003, I saw him hit that brainbuster on the turnbuckle for the first time. I told myself right there and then that I would never take that move. Never. I would never let myself be caught off guard, and I never did. Go back and watch any tapes you want. In almost seven years of having the misfortune of knowing that parasite, and having wrestled him hundreds of times, it’s still never happened because I know him better than he knows himself. That’s why he’s terrified of me and always will be. He knows he can’t fool me. He’s tried to fool all the people all these years, but I’m smarter than that. That’s why I took it upon myself to show the people what I’ve known all along, which is how ugly and despicable he is. I said I would make the picture from my shirt into a reality. And while I didn’t rip his head off, what I did was even better! No one believed me but after Glory By Honor everyone knows I am a man of my word. Now the world can finally see for themselves why he hides behind that mask… Because the real El Generico is sickening!” To say that Steen’s actions will have a major impact on this feud is a huge understatement when one considers the significance of the mask. Obviously the mask points first and foremost to Generico’s roots in Mexico. In Lucha Libre, the mask is more than just a tradition; it is your identity as a proud fighter. To truly understand its importance, one must look at Generico’s history as an individual. The fact is El Generico was introduced as a joke. He was essentially a lamb being led to slaughter, set to be chewed up in a single bout and never be heard from again. He was not taken seriously enough to even warrant his own identity. In his first match, he wrestled under the mask of the legendary luchador Octagon, earning him the mocking moniker of “The Generic Luchador”. However, from his very first bout he showed an uncanny ability to fight with his heart and win over an audience, instantly standing out. As his reputation and skill set grew, his mask was modified to cement his own identity. He journeyed to the far reaches of the globe, honing his craft and emerging as a star, thereby earning his own identity. Despite the mask’s evolution throughout his mounting success, each progression of the mask always kept the look somewhat similar to the Octagon mask he began with, constantly reminding him of his roots. The mask is the embodiment of all the hard work put in, all the hurdles overcame, and all the accolades he’s achieved. The mask is the life story of El Generico. Kevin Steen ripping the mask off was nothing less than the attempted murder of El Generico. ROH officials realize the severity of the situation at hand and have tried unsuccessfully to reach Generico. The usually reclusive luchador now appears to be completely off the grid. As a result, ROH Officials are unable to confirm El Generico’s presence at any future appearances beyond the October 1st & 2nd set of TV Tapings. Colt Cabana, undoubtedly his guiding light since this war began, was reached in hopes of shedding some light on the situation. It would appear that even he is in the dark now. “I’ve seen Generico go through the highest of highs and the lowest of lows since this all began”, said Cabana. “when we got backstage after the chain match and he was left without his mask…his identity! It was like something inside of him snapped. He just stared off into space with a crazy look in his eye. I asked him if he wanted water, something, anything. He got up, grabbed his bags and left the building. I haven’t heard from him since, and I honestly don’t know what’s next for him…but if I were a betting man, I would say things are about to get real ugly…”

Kevin Steen's "Out Of My Mind"There’s a lot of stuff to get to so I won’t draw out this introduction. You people are all very sick and helpless. Desperate… I had over 100 e-mails asking for my help in 2 days. And since then, I have received a total of 154. I plan on answering between 3 and 5 of them per week. So you do the math. You may have to wait for a while in order to get an answer but you will most likely get one. I don’t have a particular method for choosing which ones I answer first. I just randomly pick them from my inbox… So here we go… Hi Kevin,
How are you? My name is Brandon. I am the biggest loser writing you an e-mail (100% for sure). I know most wrestling fans are losers but trust me I’m the biggest one. I’m not a freak though, this e-mails probably the weirdest thing I’ve done in a while and it’s a bit misleading. Most wrestling fans are freaks, and losers. I’m just a loser, but I’m the biggest one. I fly all over the country from Nebraska to go to ROH shows every month. For the July tripleshot I drove though, I didn’t fly. All the other times I fly though. The rest of my time I spend studying for actuarial exams and sitting in a video chat room with battle rappers, which is the group of people I look up to 2nd most after wrestlers. I have 36 orders at the ROHWrestling.com shop this year and I have all the order numbers tattoo’d on my back. It’s sort of like the stanley cup.
When I was in line at Walgreens in Collinsville in July I was right behind you, that was probably the highlight of my summer. It was sort of like meeting Derrick Thomas, except he’s dead now so I can’t do that. And I didn’t really talk to you, so that doesn’t count as meeting you but oh well. So basically here is my question:
QUESTION: Will you go to this video chat room next time you’re online and bored at like 11pm CST? www.tinychat.com/grindtime
It’s a battle rap chat room but there’s more wrestling chat in there than battle rap chat, so you will definitely get a warm welcome. If you go there please chat for at least 2 hours, thanks buddy.
BrandonSweet little Brandon, calling yourself a loser and then calling other wrestling fans losers AND freaks, makes you an asshole. So next time, refer to yourself as a loser asshole. At least you’re not a freak. As a member of ROH I would like to thank you. Thank you for flying all over the country from Nebraska to see me wrestle. Thank you for ordering dvds and shirts and whatever else you may have acquired on the ROH website. It seems to me that simply saving the order numbers in your e-mail inbox for future reference would have been a lot more practical than TATOOING them on your back but that’s your choice. Most of all thank you for not talking to me at Walgreen’s. I don’t know who Derrick Thomas is but I would personally suggest meeting me would be like meeting Shania Twain…we’re both canadians, both great country singers and I too have a great ass. Now…the battle rapper thing…you know who loves to try to battle rap? El Generico. Except he’s awful. Can’t speak english. Can’t speak spanish either. So he just grunts and throws in a word once every 5 seconds. Kind of sounds like this ”grunt, grunt, humming, BALLS, grunt, humming, bark-like noise, WALLS, whistle, goes ooooooo, FALL!” and then he would just stand there with his arms crossed. And about 10 months ago I wrapped a steel chair around his head. So to sum up, no, I will not go on your battle rap chatroom at precisely 11PM CST to chat for at least 2 hours. As a matter of fact, from now on, every night, I will make it my duty to make sure I have NOTHING to do at 11pm CST and I still won’t go on your chatroom. Thanks for your question. Jacob Wood writes: Since you are such a popular fella, how about you give me some advice on friendship.
It seems that people love to take me for advantage, ya know? They call themselves friends, but than either ignore me or just don’t try any form of communication. And these are the friends of like a year, so… it tends to hurt me.
So curious as to what you have to say about THAT.
PS; MR WRESTLING is great. Love ya work!I never talk to my friends. They try to call, they try to e-mail me, text me, all that stuff. I never answer. Except for maybe 2 of them, I never really want to talk to them ever. So what are you complaining about? What has being friends with people ever did for you, really? The people you call friends, you said yourself, don’t even want to talk to you. They take you for advantage, whatever the f*** that means. So I would suggest getting a rat or a snake. You’ll still feel the same as if you were hanging out with your so-called friends but a rat or a snake can’t really hurt you. Unless they bite you, or proceed to wrap themselves around you and choke the life out of you while feasting on your head and shoulders. Either way, saves you all the worrying from not actually having true friends. What do you think of THAT? Thanks. Michael Chavez writes: Me and my wife are about to enjoy the birth of our first child at the end of September. We are having a hard time picking a name for the baby, which is a girl. Any suggestions for a first name and middle name?Pick any combination of these four names and I’m sure your daughter will have a bright future ahead of her: Ava, Carmella, Brianna or Gianna. Thanks. Dave Wood from England writes: What are your thoughts on wrestling fans who frequent internet message boards?I have no problem with wrestlings fans that go on message boards, I did as a fan and I still read one of them now that I’m a wrestler. Most people are smart enough I suppose. However, I do think people who refer to companies by one letter, like ”The ‘E is in town” are morons, just for the fact that they prefer to type the one letter as opposed to the grueling 3 it would take to do it like a normal person. I also have a problem with fans posting that they would or will do something to a wrestler when everyone in the entire world knows that there is no chance whatsoever they ever would do anything if they were ever face to face with said wrestler. I have no problem with people calling me fat, stupid, horrible, ugly, moronic, sexy, a former marine or anything like that but when they seem to imply that they would do harm to me in some way if they had the chance, it gets to me a little. For exemple, someone on the old Ring Of Honor message board once wrote something about me that still sticks with me to this day. The thread was titled ”Time to pull the trigger on Kevin Steen” or something to that effect and it talked about how it was time, in the poster’s opinion, to grant me a title match. A few people responded, some positives, some negatives but all smart, intelligent or at least logical thoughts. Then this one person, and I don’t remember the name of the poster, probably something very representative of this individual, like ”MyLifeIsAwesomeISwearItsNotDepressingAtAllNoDudeYouDontGetItIReallyIHaveACoolLifePeopleLoveMeLikeMyFriendsAlwaysSayThatWhenImNotAroundItsLikeTheyWouldRatherDieBecauseWithoutMeNothingIsCoolImTheBest696969”, went and added this little charming note to the discussion: ”Time to pull the trigger on Kevin Steen…yeah, and let’s put the bullet right between his eyes!” Now, think about this for a minute. What’s he’s talking about, is murder. For this wonderful, beautiful, inspriring human being, because he didn’t enjoy my wrestling skills or promos, didn’t enjoy looking at my sculpted physique or tightly spandex-wrapped package, it was time to take me away from my wife and son and shoot me in the head so that I die. A logical way to handle a situation when you don’t like someone’s performances if I’ve ever heard of one. Now granted, I do realize that there is no chance whatsoever this person meant what he said, or at least, meant that he would like to shoot me in the head himself but the fact he wrote it still amazes me. I used to be a little angry about it. I used to think that if I ever could be face to face with him I’d ”beat the shit out of him arghghfhghghghgh angry yell!” but now I have a different outlook, thanks to Steve. Thanks! Nick O’Donoghue writes: Kevin Steen, I remember as a child seeing images of Sissy Spacek covered in blood from the film “Carrie”, to this day this image scares me enough as an adult that I am frightened to the view the film. Other horror films do not bother me, it is more imagery with the split screens and her eyes staring while covered in blood. Do you have any childhood trauma such as this and how should one overcome it? ThanksI actually do have somewhat of a similar situation to talk about. It also involves a character named Carrie but this one was played by Sarah Jessica Parker. I was forced to watch Sex and the City 2 recently and while I have managed to supress most of the movie, one thing still stands. Sarah Jessica Parker’s face…it’s nothing against her personally, she’s a decent actress I suppose but she looks like a car accident. As for overcoming this, my only suggestion to you is to get naked and cover yourself in blood and then watch the movie again. The film shouldn’t get to you out at all, you’ll probably be more busy thinking about how you are yourself covered in blood and that you should really hit the shower before your mom, sister, girlfriend, wife, pet, caregiver, grandfather or parole officer gets to your house and sees you in this state. Thanks. Well there you go, world. This is it for now. Don’t forget to send your question to steenhelps@hotmail.com. Please know that I answered all of these while wearing El Generico’s mask and enjoying a tasty banana. Please enjoy this picture as proof:

Right Into The Fire The event was “New Frontiers” and the date June 4, 2005. It marked the first ROH meeting between a young Kevin Steen looking to earn his way into ROH and an ROH veteran by the name of Homicide. That night in Buffalo, Homicide was victorious, as he again would be in a Four Corner Survival involving both men at “Fate of An Angel” a month later. Their paths would not meet again for many years, “Return of the 187” in October of 2008 to be exact, and the roles would be very different. Steen, along with El Generico, was reigning as the ROH World Tag Team Champions whereas Homicide had not been able to compete inside the ROH ring for well over a year. That night, without the belts on the line, Steen & Generico battled Homicide & Hernandez, The Age of the Fall, and Davey Richards & Chris Hero in an Iron Team Tag Match. Homicide & Hernandez were victorious with two falls to their credit; Steen & Generico (in their first tag match since winning the belts) did not win a single fall. “They ruined it for me.” stated Kevin Steen, “Homicide and his little friend ruined my celebration. I had finally won the tag belts all by my lonesome and Homicide ruined the celebration! I should have been reveling in my championship glory; instead it took three teams to stop me from proving my dominance. But it’s okay…I’m okay with it now. It wasn’t me dropping the ball, letting the team down, and losing face. It was him. Back in 2005 though, that was my fault. Homicide was trying to teach me a lesson, teach the new guy his place, and guess what…it didn’t sink in. Well like Aladdin, it’s a whole new world. ROH is my world now Homicide, and you are the infiltrator. This is my ring and my home. You want back in, earn your way back in…through me!” Kevin Steen vs. Homicide! Chicago Ridge! October 16th! Tickets available here at ROHWrestling.com!

The 2010 ROH Holiday GauntletChristmas will come early this year for one Ring of Honor wrestler as, on October 1st, we will be taping the episode of “ROH on HDNet” that will air Christmas week. In celebration of that, we have a special opportunity for just one ROH competitor. Eight men will be selected at random out of a group of the top 16 ROH wrestlers on the roster. These 8 wrestlers will then draw their number of entry at random and 2 men will begin the match. When one man is eliminated, he will be replaced by another until there is only one wrestler standing. That last man will be declared the winner and receive the $10,000 Christmas Bonus! The 16 names being placed into the drawing are as follows: - Austin Aries - Chris Hero - Christopher Daniels - Claudio Castagnoli - Colt Cabana - Davey Richards - Eddie Edwards - El Generico - Homicide - Kevin Steen - Jay Briscoe - Mark Briscoe - Necro Butcher - Rhett Titus - Roderick Strong - Steve Corino Which of these 16 will be selected? “The Notorious 187” Homicide made his return in a big way at “Glory by Honor IX”, live on iPPV (replay available: www.gofightlive.tv/showEvent.do?eventId=733), after Roderick Strong captured the ROH World Title from Tyler Black. What those watching on iPPV missed out on was the former ROH World Champion declaring his intentions to reclaim the belt and, if necessary, run through the entire locker room to get that shot. Well as already announced for Chicago Ridge on 10/16, Homicide will have to take on one recent challenger for the belt in the form of Kevin Steen. Now ROH officials have another recent title challenger on tap for the Rottweiler in Dayton, OH on 10/15, none other than “The Pretty Boy Pitbull” Kenny King! “It’s a pit bull that runs this house now, son.” boasted King, “And I’ll be damned if I let a little yapping rottweiler come into my yard looking for a place to do his business. Ring of Homicide was great, I loved it, but right now the spotlight’s on me and mine. I showed the hillbillies in Dayton just how much I own the limelight back in April, and just go ask Jerry Lynn and Delirious what happens when you try and take that away. Ring of Honor is where The All Night Express does their business Homicide, and we damn sure do it all…night…long!” Kenny King has come a long way since debuting in ROH and a victory over a former ROH World Champion Homicide would certainly propel him right back into the title hunt. A loss for “The Notorious 187” so early in his quest to regain that belt would certainly set him back. Which man will come out on top inside the Montgomery County Fairgrounds on October 15th? Be there live to find out: www.rohwrestling.com/store.php?sec=prod&prod=295.

The Briscoes vs. Kings Comes To Chicago! Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli. Jay & Mark Briscoe. Those four names have largely defined tag team wrestling in Ring of Honor throughout 2010. From the KoW’s surprise return that closed out 2009 to their epic battles at “The Big Bang”, “Death Before Dishonor VIII”, and on HDNet, this rivalry has shaped the tag division for the last 10 months. In a traditional tag setting, the current World Tag Champions have largely controlled the game. Their two iPPV wins as well as their successful title defense against The Briscoes on HDNet, while somewhat nefarious, have put the KoW at a decided advantage over the Sandy Fork natives. The animosity between these four men is such that it has spilled outside the confines of the participants and brought Sara Del Rey, Amazing Kong, Shane Hagadorn, and Papa Briscoe all into the equation. In fact, at the last set of “ROH on HDNet” TV tapings, the head of the Briscoe clan assaulted Hagadorn after his involvement in a bout between his sons and the Kings. Well Ring of Honor has decided to give these four men another opportunity to battle it out under stipulations in which they have not battled it out before: Elimination Rules. When ROH returns to Chicago Ridge, IL on October 16th, it will be The KoW vs. The Briscoes fighting it out under Elimination Rules. “Those hillbillies are lucky to even get a chance to set foot in the ring with The Kings one more time!” offered Shane Hagadorn, “They have decisively…DECISIVELY…beaten those boys three times when the belts have been on the line, and I will be damned if I allow ROH officials to make this a title match again. I know they’re the favorite sons of honor, but you haven’t proven anything to me, to Claudio, or to Chris. If ROH want to put the belts on the line, then don’t expect the Kings to sign on that dotted line!” “$%^& Hagadorn!” retorted Jay Briscoe, “Belts or no belts, we’re taking that match in Chicago. Them boys know by now they’ve made this beyond personal. This is family, this is blood for blood, and trust me, which ever one of you queens we knock outta this match first, well me and Mark are gonna take our time hurting whoever’s left. See you b!@#$%^ in Chicago.” The Kings of Wrestling vs. The Briscoes, Elimination Style! Tickets are on sale now for ROH’s return to Chicago Ridge, IL on October 16th right here: www.rohwrestling.com/store.php?sec=prod&prod=296. Don’t miss out on this tag team grudge match as well as Christopher Daniels vs. Davey Richards, Homicide vs. Kevin Steen, and more!!!

I Quit! September 28th: Colt Cabana and Steve Corino will do battle in one final showdown when ROH returns to The Frontier Fieldhouse in Chicago Ridge, IL on Saturday night, October 16th. Cabana made Corino give up to the Billy Goat’s Curse at “Glory by Honor IX” in a gruesome Double Chain Match and is looking to finally take everything out on Corino one-on-one in his hometown, preferably without having to worry about Kevin Steen or any other outside distractions. Corino has accepted the match stating that Cabana’s win at Glory By Honor was “a fluke” and that “Cabana could never make me give up ever again” especially without Generico around to aid Cabana in the process. ROH officials will officially sign this match within the next couple of days and a stipulation will be set to cater towards both men’s needs. And this final showdown will be determined by two simple words: “I Quit”. Months of blood and humiliation, pain and betrayal, will all be settled…at least as far as Colt Cabana and Steve Corino are concerned…when one of those individuals utters that combination of submissive words. In recent months Cabana and Corino have been bound to one another, both figuratively and literally, as a result of their friendships, or in the case of Corino, mentorship, of El Generico and Kevin Steen respectively. They have fought one another in everything from a standard wrestling match, to deathmatches, to the recent Double Chain Match at “Glory by Honor IX”. They have both spilled blood and suffered in defense of their friends but the story between these two combatants goes back years through their mutual…friendship…with former ROH World Champion CM Punk. They have teamed, they have argued, but never in their mutual history have Colt and Corino gone at it with such viciousness as they have in the last ten months. Colt Cabana lays a portion of the blame on Kevin Steen’s shoulders: “I know Steve,” said Cabana, “and I know he’s got a dark side, a vicious streak, but these last few months have been above and beyond. Steve and Kev are feeding off each other. They’re both sick men all by themselves. Together, it’s like…I don’t know…a horror show come to life. So if I am going to end this, if ROH wants this to end, all I need is Kevin out of the picture for just one night, just one match without his involvement, one match without his…his sickness infecting it.” ROH officials are inclined to agree with Colt and as such have acquiesced to his request to remove Steen from the equation. Since it is quite obvious that there is no way Kevin will stay out of the match on his own accord, ROH officials have declared that Steen will be allowed at ringside under one condition: he will be restrainted by a straightjacket! “A straightjacket? Are you out of YOUR minds?” said Steve Corino, “You want to trot Kevin out like he’s some mental patient in need of restraint just because it makes poor Colt feel better about himself? Fine! So be it! Regardless I’ll make Colt scream out I quit in front of his parents! And if he gets near Kevin, I promise Kevin will just chew Colt’s face off! A straightjacket won’t stop a man like Kevin from doing whatever he wants whenever he wants, but if it makes you and Ring of Honor feel better…safer…then so be it.” The final showdown between Colt Cabana and Steve Corino…I Quit Rules…Kevin Steen restrained at ringside…get your tickets now (http://www.rohwrestling.com/store.php?sec=prod&prod=296)!
