The Storm Is Coming It has been eleven months since the darkness began. By now, everyone knows the story of December 19, 2009 and the war that’s taken place as a result of that night. And just like in any war, blood, sweat and tears have been shed by many. The one thing that can be said of the war between Kevin Steen and El Generico however, is that there has been no death. But that too will soon change. On December 18, 2010, one of these men’s careers will die. “Final Battle 2010″ will mark the end of an era, but also the dawn of a new day. They say it’s always darkest before the dawn. In this story, that could not be any truer. With the dawn only a month away, things have never been darker for either man. It is very apparent how deranged Kevin Steen has become. As the months have gone by in this war, his actions have been progressively more disturbing. However, since unmasking his foe at “Glory By Honor IX”, he has been closer to the edge than ever. It has gotten to the point where even his mentor Steve Corino has lost control of the situation. It has been said that a man with nothing to lose is the most dangerous man of all. In the case of Steen, it appears to be quite the opposite. He is marching into battle in New York City with everything on the line, which makes him more threatening than ever before. His descent into madness has made him quite possibly the most dangerous man in ROH. This must be a concern not only to Generico, but all ROH competitors including the Kings of Wrestling who take on Steen and Corino this coming weekend with the ROH World Tag Team Championships on the line. Although, should he be victorious in vanquishing El Generico at Final Battle, one has to believe the ROH World Championship would not be unrealistic as his next target. While Steen’s decent into madness has been apparent in countless videos and letters, El Generico has quietly entered an equally dark and unstable frame of mind. El Generico is a man who once embodied light heartedness and didn’t appear to have a bad bone in his body. Generico like Steen though, is now a man on the edge. His current state is a far cry from the bouncy, fun-loving luchador fans have seen over the years. He was last seen at the TV Tapings in early-October clad in all black, including a strange black mask, with a more vicious temperament than ever before. He was then M.I.A in Dayton and Chicago with ROH offices unable to confirm his presence. What will happen this weekend when he returns to action against Eddie Edwards with the TV title on the line? The masked man in black appears to have nothing but revenge on his mind. As opposite as he and Steen are, Generico now finds himself in exactly the same position – pushed to the brink of insanity, with a simple mission of ending the other man’s career. Both men are extremely focused but have two very different approaches. Generico has been simmering in his own madness and growing more disturbed by the day as he prepares for the storm ahead. Steen has been in the spotlight telling anyone who will listen of his plans and upping the ante with his mental warfare. Steen’s latest mind game may be the most controversial of all, as a video was recently released here on ROHWrestling.com wherein he announced that he will be selling El Generico’s mask on Ebay. If stealing Generico’s mask from him has caused this radical transformation in the masked man, one can only imagine what the backlash will be now that Steen is trying to shamelessly hock Generico’s very identity to the highest bidder. Will Steen’s latest mind game will get inside Generico’s head enough to shake him on his mission of redemption, or if it will ultimately end up being his undoing? It has been eleven months since Kevin Steen turned his back on El Generico. Time does not always heal all wounds. Time sometimes makes the wounds deeper and deeper until they infect the wounded, and that infection takes over mind, body, and soul. Such is the case for Kevin Steen and El Generico, who are now getting ready for the storm. The clouds have been brewing for a long time. It has only gotten darker and darker on the warfront, but the end is coming. And on that day, it will be the biggest storm ever to hit New York City.

Qualifying matches feature: World Tag Team Champion Chris Hero vs. World TV Champion Eddie Edwards, El Generico vs. Kenny King, Kevin Steen vs. Kyle O’Reilly, Colt Cabana vs. Rhett Titus, Steve Corino vs. Adam Cole, and World Tag Team Champion Claudio Castagnoli with Shane Hagadorn vs. Grizzly Redwood. Also featuring 6-Man Tag Action with ROH World Champion Roderick Strong & The House of Truth vs. “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels & The Briscoes as well as Homicide vs. Andy “Right Leg” Ridge. Tickets will be available at the door on Friday night!!! - Ring of Honor is back in the Great White North this Saturday night, November 13th, for “Night of the Champions 2010” at The International Centre, 6900 Airport Rd, Hall 4a, Mississauga, ON, L4V 1E8 with a belltime of 7:30 PM. Bouts include THREE World title matches: ROH World Champion Roderick Strong vs. Christopher Daniels, ROH World TV Champion Eddie Edwards vs. El Generico, & ROH World Tag Team Champions Chris Hero & Claudio Castagnoli vs. Kevin Steen & Steve Corino!!! Also Jay Briscoe vs. Homicide, The All Night Express vs. Kyle O’Reilly & Adam Cole, Mark Briscoe vs. Andy “Right Leg” Ridge, as well as Colt Cabana, Grizzly Redwood, & The House of Truth in action! Tickets will be for sale at the door on Saturday night for this event!!! - ROH World Champion Roderick Strong recently returned from a successful tour of Pro Wrestling NOAH. Strong knew weeks before his departure that when he returned he would face the first challenger for his ROH World Championship: “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels! The interest level is high for what could be an epic encounter. Read all about the big match here: www.rohwrestling.com/news/stong-vs-daniels/. - Truth Martini has sent word to the ROH offices that Christian Able has suffered a severe injury and will not be able to compete this weekend in Dearborn and Mississauga. Martini informed us weeks ago that a brand new HoT official member would debut this weekend. Truth stated this was a man who passed the recruiting test with “flying colors” and could recite the Book of Truth from memory. Martini has stated that not only will the brand new member debut but taking Able’s spot will be a recruit looking to make the cut in the House Of Truth. “This is a man who has listened to my words for quite a long time. He has changed his ways and I will allow him the opportunity to compete with the best. But if he fails, then he will fail hard.” Martini was quoted as saying. - Jay Briscoe and Homicide will battle in Mississauga, ON in a grudge match that could steal the show. Homicide is undefeated since returning to ROH and is a lone outlaw on his way to the title. Homicide feels that Briscoe got too involved with his business recently in Dayton, OH when Jay ran off the All Night Express in their attempt to cripple Homicide. Jay is a man ready to fight at all times and a recent verbal confrontation between the two displayed a high level of intensity that will be multiplied 10 times over this Saturday night when both men engage in this one-on-one war. - The All Night Express (Kenny King and Rhett Titus) have officially signed to appear at the “ROH on HDNet” national television tapings in Louisville, Kentucky on December 9th and 10th. ROH World Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling, Haas & Benjamin, The Briscoes, and now the All Night Express will all be in the same building! The Tag Team scene will be at a boiling point in Louisville! Get your tickets for this “Two Nights Only” event here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=3. - For those coming in from out of town for the Louisville events, a special rate hotel has been set up at the Springhill Suites by Marriott, 10101 Forest Green Blvd in Louisville. This all-suite hotel features 2-room suites with bed in one room and sleeper sofa in the other, microwaves and refridgerators in all rooms, 32″ plasma TV’s and complimentary Wi-Fi, and is conveniently located 10 minutes from both the airport and the Davis Arena, as well as near some of the best shopping and dining in Louisville. When you book ahead and ask for the ROH rate, you will receive a specially-discounted $79 per night rate. - Take advantage of our “Free Shipping Sale” this weekend at ROHWrestling.com in the new ROH Online Store. U.S. customers must spend $25 or more, customers in Canada $50 or more, and international customers only $60 or more to receive free shipping on your order. For complete details click here: www.rohwrestling.com/news/free-shipping-sale/. - Davey Richards has sent an e-mail from Japan wishing luck to his partner Eddie Edwards in this Friday’s Survival of the Fittest tournament. “Survival is the definition of the Wolves; I have no doubt that Eddie will be the sole survivor.” Richards will return to ROH after his current Japan tour and will team with Edwards in a First Time Ever Match for the ROH World Tag Team Titles against The Kings of Wrestling on December 17th in Plymouth, MA. Tickets for ROH’s return to New England are available here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=207. - Every ROH wrestler competing in this Friday’s Survival of the Fittest has sent word to the ROH office via video or letter commenting on the big tournament. The only wrestler who refused to comment was El Generico. Generico has not been easy to find lately and he is in a very dark place mentally ever since his mask was stolen at “Glory by Honor IX” by Kevin Steen. A new article posted on the main page of ROHWrestling.com (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/the-storm-is-coming/) takes a look at the dark transformation of El Generico and how it parallels with that of Kevin Steen. It will be interesting to see how focused his mind is this weekend as he could potentially earn a World Title shot on Friday and could also walk away with the ROH World TV Championship on Saturday. - Take a look at the thoughts of the various competitors in this Friday nights’ “Survival of the Fittest 2010” tournament: Eddie Edwards – www.youtube.com/watch?v=atWYieDliDoKevin Steen – www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMcfLCFkoPQ&feature=channelKyle O’Reilly – www.youtube.com/watch?v=1YhDFv3xalgClaudio Castagnoli – www.youtube.com/watch?v=h1Yr5e7BtfE&feature=relatedAdam Cole – www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXJn-eIOa1E&feature=relatedRhett Titus – www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrjS2rBKKOgChris Hero – www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3kGJq-rQXc- Andy Ridge has been training and working on his all-around game harder then ever since the announcement of Homicide and Mark Briscoe as his next two opponents in the Trial Series. “I feel confident that I’ll be able to handle my own due to my recent training, but a lot of times all that stuff goes out the window and you must rely on natural reflex.” said Ridge last night at the ROH Academy. - The Women of Honor will be in action this Saturday in Mississauga, ON as “The Queen of Wrestling” Sara Del Rey faces off against Jamilia Craft. - You never know when you will be rewarded for following Ring of Honor in the social media world! Be sure to follow ROH Owner Cary Silken on twitter at twitter.com/ROHCary, our main ROH page at twitter.com/ROHonHDNet, and also www.facebook.com/ringofhonor. On those pages we will putting times and places we will be at before the event this Saturday in Mississauga, ON. First fans to show up will be rewarded with anything from tickets to merchandise. We will depend on you to spread the word when these messages go up; put #FindROH on twitter or share the postings on Facebook. Should be fun! - Be sure to visit the ROH wrestlers at the Toronto Sports Card Expo before the November 13th event in Mississauga Ontario. The building is located at the International Centre at 6900 Airport Road in Mississauga Ontario Canada (Buildings 4 & 5). Jim Cornette, the Kings Of Wrestling (Hero & Claudio), Colt Cabana, and Christopher Daniels will all be on hand to meet and greet the fans. Autographs, Tickets, and wrestler merchandise will be available. - For those in attendance in Dearborn and Mississauga we’ll be releasing new official ROH T-Shirts for Homicide and The All Night Express. We also just received Kings of Wrestling hoodies, skull caps, and baseball caps. Check out the merchandise table this weekend for these items and more.

I've only see Omega once or twice, but I like him. He's like a better less annoying Colt Cabana and he'll make the show better, but it sucks they can't push him because he travels too much.

November 16th Newswire- Ring of Honor’s returns to Dearborn, MI and Mississauga, ON over the weekend is in the books and a great deal of newsworthy items transpired. ROH crowned the 2010 Survival of the Fittest, Roderick Strong’s first title defense, the Generico-Steen rivalry cranked it up a notch once again, and many more events. Check all the results here: www.rohwrestling.com/news/eddie-edwards-wins-survival-of-the-fittest/. Tickets for return dates in Dearborn (April 29th) and Toronto (April 30th) are on sale now. - ROH World Champion Roderick Strong was successful in his first defense against Christopher Daniels last Saturday in Mississauga, ON, Canada. After a classic ROH main event, Strong was able to get the victory over The Fallen Angel following a devastating combination of moves. Before the match on Saturday Strong was quoted as saying “I focus on whoever is next and I don’t look back in the past or too far ahead.” Right now the next in line for the World Champion is Davey Richards live on iPPV at “Final Battle 2010” on December 18th in New York City. Richards is currently on a roll in New Japan, and will be challenging for the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Title on December 11th against Prince Devitt. Only a few days later, Richards returns to the United States with his eyes on the ROH World Tag Titles in Plymouth, MA & the ROH World Title in NYC. Tickets on sale for both events here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=3. - Eddie Edwards showed an unbelievable amount of heart and talent on Friday as he battled through a severe shoulder injury to win “Survival of the Fittest 2010”. ROH cameras captured some words with the ROH World TV champion following the finals and it was evident how much pain he was in. In fact, Edwards was unable to get clearance from doctors to compete the following night in his scheduled ROH World TV Title match against El Generico. Edwards demanded that the doctors and ROH officials let him compete in Mississauga but in Eddie’s best interest he was refused clearance. Edwards has a follow up doctor’s appointment today and we will give you the update as soon as we get word. Get well soon Eddie! - Kevin Steen resembled a madman loose from the ward over the weekend and completely proved to be the most unstable man on the ROH roster. Steen was so mentally consumed with El Generico over the weekend that on Friday, he defeated Kyle O’Reilly with El Generico’s own Brainbuster to advance in the Survival of the Fittest tournament. Immediately after Kevin’s match, Steve Corino was upset by Adam Cole with a flash rollup, much to the shock of Corino & Steen, who then attacked the newcomer. Cole was beaten mercilessly until El Generico ran in, wearing all black, and going straight after Steen. A brawl ensued that quickly led to Corino & Steen outnumbering Generico and putting him through a table. ROH referees and staff came out immediately after this to drag Steen & Corino to the back. Steen was forcibly restrained with handcuffs backstage as an attempt to contain him and keep him from interfering in Generico’s first round qualifier. Steen was unable to interfere, however, a visually beat up and mentally disturbed El Generico lost against first round opponent Kenny King as the previous injuries from Steen were too much of a handicap to get the job done. At the start of the finals Steen came out in handcuffs and was unlocked before the match at ringside. Before Steen could even get into the ring, Generico ran out attacking him, leading to Steen being pinned by Claudio, and screwing him out of the Survival of the Fittest crown. - Steen & Generico’s hatred continued the following night in Mississauga as both wrestlers interfered in one another’s match leading to loses for both Steen and Generico. Steen and Generico created such chaos over the weekend that ROH owner Cary Silken banned each man from within 50 feet from each other until “Final Battle 2010” and also made the match a Fight Without Honor! Add this stipulation onto the Mask vs. ROH Career stipulation and this bout may prove to be one of the most epic fights we have ever seen! Steen, Corino, and a disturbing Generico all had words for the ROH cameras over the weekend so watch out for the ROH Video Wire. - Truth Martini introduced Zach Gowan & Michael Elgin as the newest member and the newest potential recruit respectively over the weekend. Truth explained that Gowan had overcome adversity like no other, had practiced the philosophies of the Book of Truth to turn his life around, and had thusly become a better human being. Truth also explained that Michael Elgin was replacing an injured Christian Abel, that he was in the recruiting process, and that a successful weekend could lead to him becoming a full time member. After Gowan was pinned on both nights, Truth gave Elgin the word and Elgin laid out Gowan with a ruthless lariat, apparently kicking Gowan out of the HoT on his first weekend, and securing a full time spot in the House of Truth for Elgin. It will be interesting to see what Truth has in store for the new HOT member, and stay tuned to an upcoming ROH Video Wire for words from both Truth Martini & Michael Elgin. - Luck was on the side of the All Night Express over the weekend as they were scheduled to face Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly in a tag team rematch from their “Richards vs. Daniels” bout in Chicago Ridge. However, with the unfortunate injury to Eddie Edwards, ROH officials scrambled to put TV title challenger El Generico in a situation to earn gold since his scheduled TV Title match would need to be postponed. El Generico & Colt Cabana vs. the All Night Express was signed with the stipulation that the winning team get a future shot at the ROH World Tag Team Titles. Kenny King & Rhett Titus have been very vocal recently about getting a title shot and now, after their victory Saturday night over Generico & Cabana, they will get that opportunity. Stay tuned for the official date. - Andy Ridge continued to impress in matches #3 and #4 of the Trial Series. In Dearborn, Ridge faced former ROH World Champion Homicide and in Mississauga, he battled Mark Briscoe. Both nights Ridge fought like a warrior and has the scars to prove it. The young athlete earned the respect of both veterans by taking a beating and putting up a great fight. The final Trial Series match will take place on December 17th in Plymouth, MA and ROH cameras did get a word from both Mark Briscoe after their bout, as well as Ridge as he looks to his final test. - As announced earlier today (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/iwgp-jr-tag-champion-coming-back-to-roh/), ROH officials have come to terms with Kenny Omega for his return to ROH competition in December. On December 17th & 18th, one-half of the current IWGP Jr. Tag Champions will make his long awaited return to ROH after six long months. What competition will he face? Keep checking back with ROHWrestling.com to find out! - “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett is coming. - Last week we mentioned some new ROH apparel which includes new T-Shirts for Homicide and The All Night Express, along with hoodies, baseball caps, and skull caps for The Kings of Wrestling. These items are now online and available to purchase in the ROH Online Shop right here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=categories.view&category_id=2. - Look for Colt Cabana’s latest “Audible Article” to be posted tomorrow. We’ll also be back with the first official match for the upcoming TV Tapings in Louisville.

First Match Announed for Louisville TV Tapings ROH officials have finalized the first match-up for the “ROH on HDNet” TV tapings take place in Louisville, KY on Thursday night December 9th and Friday night December 10th at The Davis Arena. With a big World Title defense right around the corner at “Final Battle 2010”, Roderick Strong will take on Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana on Thursday night right in Colt’s old stomping grounds. As a result of the impending title match in NYC, ROH officials have decided that this will be a non-title affair. “This is no sleight against Colt Cabana.” Said Executive Producer Jim Cornette, “He’s a hell of a talent, one of the best in Ring of Honor I would say. But Davey Richards was promised the winner of Roderick and Daniels, and that is what is going to happen. Colt, here’s your opportunity to earn a shot, and hopefully, Truth willing, to get that pure wrestling competition I heard you’re looking for.” “I’ve been a victim of the Truth before,” said Colt, “so I will have my eye on him and his book. Be the champion I know you can be Roderick, do this straight up, and prove to me and the fans that you can do this on your own. All I want is to show the world the art of pro wrestling, and that Ring of Honor is the place where the best wrestlers compete.” Strong vs. Colt, Non-Title, Thursday night December 9th in Louisville, KY. Get your tickets here for Thursday night, or check out the ROH store for a special deal on tickets for both nights! Keep checking back with ROHWrestling.com as more matches get announced for this “Two Nights Only” event!

November 18th Newswire- ROH World TV Champion Eddie Edwards has been diagnosed with a separated shoulder but still must see an orthopedist to determine if there has been any ligament or tendon damage before he is cleared to compete. ROH officials will keep you updated on the status of Edwards as we learn more. - Homicide remains undefeated since returning to ROH, and this past Saturday he and Jay Briscoe engaged in a one-on-one war. After a rough back and forth battle, Homicide was able to get the victory over Jay with the Ace Crusher and take himself one step closer to receiving a ROH World Title shot. Homicide plans to continue his win streak on December 9th and 10th as he has officially signed to appear at the “ROH on HDNet” national television tapings in Louisville, Kentucky! Tickets for this “Two Nights Only” extravaganza are available here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch= categories.view&category_id=3. - ROH World Tag Team Champions Claudio Castagnoli & Chris Hero were successful at defending their ROH titles over the weekend, and are now off to Japan for the upcoming NOAH Winter Navigation 2010 tour staring on 11/19 and running through 12/5. Hero & Castagnoli will challenge for the GHC Heavyweight Tag Team Championship against the team of Takuma Sano & Yoshihiro Takayama on December 5th at Nippon Budokan. Ring of Honor wishes The Kings of Wrestling the best of luck in Japan. - ROH’s return to Plymouth, MA on December 17th will see a 1st Time Dream Bout for the ROH World Tag Team Championship with champions The Kings of Wrestling (Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli) defending against The American Wolves (Davey Richards and ROH World Television Champion Eddie Edwards). ROH officials are now pleased to announce that ROH World Champion Roderick Strong, The Briscoe Brothers, Kevin Steen, and El Generico will all be in action when we return to Memorial Hall. Tickets for Plymouth, MA are available here: www.rohstore.com/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=207. - Prince Nana made phone calls to many ROH employees claiming he will be back with a bang very soon. Many in ROH feel Nana is going through major issues as his personality seems to be amplified to the next level. Nana has yet to make an official statement on The Embassy but after a long streak of loses in major matches Nana has said that he has cut off funds to all in the Embassy until further notice. “I still make it rain on all my queens but the wrestlers in the Embassy are in a drought! Things are going to happen my friend, just you wait.” - Colt Cabana was very frustrated over the weekend about many things and made it known to ROH officials on Sunday morning. One of those things was how he was defeated on both nights unfairly while he aims to uphold sportsmanship to its fullest. Cabana is attempting to put the recent heated and bloody wars with Steen & Corino in the past and focus on true technical competition that showcases his unique, scientific style. Cabana has made it known that he wants to face competitors that have a true passion for the sport and the art of wrestling, not individuals that will resort to illegal behavior. Cabana was happy to team with Generico this weekend but realized that the war with Steen must end because Generico has become a completely different person. “I am officially out of this. Generico must fig ht this war by himself and win it; that is how he will recover.” Cabana said in regards to the darker Generico. “I will always be on his side but right now he must do this alone.” - And in the vein of competition, it was announced yesterday (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/first-match-announced-for-louisville-tv-tapings/), that Colt will compete against ROH World Champion Roderick Strong in a non-title bout on Thursday night December 9th in Louisville, KY. Truth Martini retorted to Colt’s comments with the following, “Roderick Strong has proven himself for many years in Ring of Honor Cabana. He has proven his worth both inside the ring with his many accolades and outside as well with his willingness to embrace the truth. No man is a victim of the truth, as you claim Cabana; the only victims are the men who do not listen when the truth speaks.” - And speaking of Generico, there is a new article on the main page (http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/steen-vs-generico/) taking a look at the bitter history of Kevin Steen and El Generico through the eyes of ROH President Cary Silkin and why he is putting the “Fight Without Honor” stipulation on their already high-stakes match. - “Ring of Honor on HDNet Vol. 4″ is now in stock and available exclusively in the ROH Online Shop. This volume features the final two HDNet matches of Bryan Danielson that were part of The Final Countdown Tour from September 2009. First, Danielson teams with Roderick Strong against The American Wolves, and then in his final appearance, goes one-on-one with Strong. Some of the other matches on this DVD include Austin Aries vs. Davey Richards vs. Kenny Omega vs. Roderick Strong for the ROH World Title; The American Wolves vs. The Young Bucks; Nigel McGuinness’ final match on HDNet; Jay and Mark Briscoe vs. Kevin Steen and El Generico; plus much more. - We are now taking preorders on the DVD release of “Allied Forces” from October 15th in Dayton, OH. This event featured a tremendous main event for the World Tag Team Titles as The Kings of Wrestling defended against Davey Richards and Christopher Daniels. A special bonus disc will be included with the entire Joe-Punk Trilogy from their classic World Title feud from 2004 along with some promos surrounding those matches. - Look for our “Pre-Thanksgiving Sale” to be posted soon at ROHWrestling.com. - We’re very close to having one of the main event matches confirmed for the Friday night ROH on HDNet TV Tapings in Louisville on December 10th. We hope to get the match announced on Friday afternoon. Stay tuned!
