How can a promotion be untalented? Or talented, for that matter?

Honestly I agree with the sentiments of just letting the place go. ECW ran there...so? If memory serves me correctly, they began running there less and less in favour of the Hammerstein Ballroom during their final years.

THE FORMER ECW ARENA, AS WE KNOW IT, IS INDEED DONE NEXT MONTH by Mike Johnson @ 2:53 PM on 12/21/2011
The Asylum Arena, more famous as the ECW Arena, will be host what will indeed be the last pro wrestling events in the venue as we know it on Saturday 1/14/11 when Combat Zone Wrestling and EVOLVE hold a double header.
Reps for a number of promotions that run the venue met with the new leaseholder, Joanna Pang, over the last several days. While Pang is not opposed to pro wrestling in the venue, the reality is that she will be shutting the Arena down on 2/1 for an extensive renovations.
The early word is that plans call for the section of the venue that holds the stage and bathrooms will be ripped out for a new permanent stage and backstage dressing rooms area. The side of the venue that holds the Eagle's Nest (where the hard camera is currently set up) will be knocked down and the size of the venue expanded as far as they can go. The Arena, as we knew it physically, will be done for good.
While obviously there is always a chance that wrestling will be allowed to be booked into the venue, there's no confirmation on that, plus as I have written before, the Arena being a reasonably priced venue to rent ($2,500 last I heard) with a management that will allow pretty much anything in a freewheeling, frenzied environment will become a thing of the past.
