No Cena? Really?
I know he's got his critics but when push comes to shove, the guy has some excellant matches. The fact that he hasn't made the list when guys like Miz and Kofi have is pretty ridiculous.

Yeah, I prefer the PWI 500 which takes everything into consideration.
And John Cena did have amazing matches this year.

And now you see the problems when you do a smark list. It because less about giving deserving people praise & props and more of playing IWC/Japanophile favorites.

I love Power Slam to bits, as it carries a lot of information, but it does heavily favour indy/Japanese organisations and wrestlers when it comes to the PS 50. I watch only small chunks of the above, and while yes, some of the wrestlers are very, very technically adept, they don't, in my opinion, entertain as much as a Cena/Punk etc would do, and I get the impression the list is normally to satisfy those who love "real" wrestling and detest the WWE product and turn their nose up at TNA.

Thing is, the rest of the year they'll give Japanese wrestling about 1 page a month, if they followed it a bit more in depth so they were helping promote these guys it might carry a bit more weight than 'these guys who we give a few words to every month, they're actually the best in the world, not the other 98% of what we cover'.

My main problem with this list is that The Miz is on it. Why? If this is a list about people's in ring work, what has Miz done to deserve to be there? Sure he's had a couple of good matches this year, but IMO he was carried to those. The guy has value, but his in ring skill is not it. Sheamus being number 25 also bugs me. He's usually solid in the ring, but I can't recall him doing anything outstanding.
If they're going to favor indy/puro guys then that's fine, whatever...but at least put the WWE guys up there that deserve it. Cena has had more great matches this year than either of them. Ziggler should have been higher too, he's been on fire.

Oh, you guys. I don't watch anything other than WWE, but surely you can allow for one publication that doesn't heap praise on John Cena. He gets his ass kissed plenty elsewhere.

There are plenty of problems with this list that have nothing to do with Cena. For example, why is the Miz even on this list? I don't hate the guy or anything but I really haven't seen anything from his in-ring that stands out. Certainly not enough to be on a top 50 list. Also, how is Sheamus higher on the list than DB or Ziggler? If we are just comparing in-ring work, Ziggler and DB's work have been leaps and bounds ahead of Sheamus this year.

Yeah, I prefer the PWI 500 which takes everything into consideration. actually the main thing they take into consideration is main stream exposure in America

It's no secret that Power Slam magazine hates Cena. What I don't get is that they seem to blame how Cena is booked on him, instead of management.

I'd guess they expect him to have control over his booking like every other headliner has, rather than the guy we see who just works hard and goes along with it.

The more I read Powerslam these days the more I'm convinced they're just douchebags who hate wrestling but want to sound smug writing about it.
