The pure absurdity of it all.
Every week on Nitro and Thunder just being absolute clusterf***s.
Angles that made no sense or were just dropped.
The pole matches. The awful gimmicks.
I genuinely miss it.

As bad as it was towards the end, I really enjoyed watching it, although not in a masochistic way as many on here did, I imagine.

I miss it. The thing is, the WCW 2000 roster was actually pretty damn awesome. They had some great workers, its just that the car crash booking did them no favours at all.
But yeah, there is something fascinating about watching it now.

Yes and no. I actually thought the Russo era from October 1999-January 2000 was good from a trainwreck/absurdity standpoint. However, 2000 also had the February/March stuff that put me to sleep (Sid & Jarrett getting weekly title shots and rematches).
Despite that, it was still better than the 1999 'Summer of Suck'. Good lord, one of the worst periods of wrestling I've ever seen. That alone makes 2000 WCW better than 1999 WCW

No. I have never liked things that are "so bad they are good". If something ucks, it just sucks.

All they need is Buff Bagwell and David Flair, and they're pretty much good to go.

They had the potential to be good at that time, it was just poorly booked. To me 2001 was where they were improving, but it was too late by then.

late January til late March (the Sullivan era) was some of the worst stuff I've ever seen...it was ACTIVELY BORING!
Sid vs. Jarrett/Harris Boys/Nash (nWo? wut?) Booker vs. Stevie Ray (letter T saga) all the old geezers ruling the main events (Flair, Hogan, Sting, Luger, Sid, Nash) The Wall getting a serious push a lot of guys just disappeared (besides the Radicalz of course), like Shane Douglas, Chavo, Konnan, Kidman (guess why...)
twas afwul, never have I seen a worse wrestling programme!

As a die-hard WCW fan: F*** no. I miss WCW 2000 like I miss having Chickenpox.
Anybody who says "It's so bad it was good" never saw it live. It wasn't so bad it was good, it was just bad.

This thread is a reminder of just how bad WCW really was. I'm glad it's gone because TNA is plenty enough of watching mind numblingly stupid wrestling on television.

Every week. Just so completely absurd that it crossed over from terrible to awesome. Postmodernism at its finest.
Al Green as Knobb's dog was high art.

I miss WCW in general but theres no way I miss the late WCW. It was so frustrating to watch knowing how much better the show could be. I was/am still a huge WCW mark but it was very hard to see such a talent pool just be wasted the way it was. Russo and others said it was because of Standards and Practices holding them back but WWE is PG now and put on a decent show with talent that's not over as much as most of the roster was back then. Nobody wanted to see Oklahoma and Madusa fueding over the cruiserweight championship. Let Kidman and Juventude tear the f***ing house down for Christ's sake! There's so many more examples of that type of booking. So mind boggling how they couldn't see that.
