"Who would believe Mick Foley as a champion?" -Schiavone
Also that same "night," on Raw, the Job squad was in a match, my friends were ringside and yelling things at Bob Holly. They told him he needed to lose, and he agreed looked at his wrist like there was a watch on it and said "right about now." He climbs back in the ring gets clobbered & pinned.
You can see him look at his wrist on the tape.

Punk on commentary gave away that it was gonna be Sheamus vs John Morrison in the finals of the 2010 King of the Ring.....during a match involving one of them, can't remember who not a wrestler per say but Heenan gave away the Hogan heel turn at Bash at the Beach didn't it come out that the heenan thing was a cooincidence? that no one told heenan that hogan was the third man but due to the history between heenan and hogan, heenan was just doing his usual hogan over the top comment, that no one was supposed to take seriously because it's just heenan bashing hogan again, saying he was the third man...then it turned out he really was

Shawn Michaels during his epic match with Hulk Hogan

Shawn Michaels during his epic match with Hulk Hogan in all honesty, yeah, Shawn was being an immature doof reminiscent of himself in the mid 90s. that said, I think what he did was the only way to make that match entertaining. Hogan was in terrible shape and had no business being in a ring anymore, I don't think the fans would've bought them having a competitive match.

I'm not sure if it was just because of the huge reception he got, but Edge looked close to tears at Unforgiven when he entered the ring to face Cena. He then lost the belt...

For the longest time, the odds were, who ever comes out second is winning the match. I'm not for sure if that's still going strong.

I remember commenting here in the WrestleMania 25 thread as the show was going on that Randy Orton looked like he was upset at throwing his angle down the toilet and jobbing to Triple H. During his entrance, Orton didn't look in character at all. None of his mannerisms were there, and his face just had this look of indifference. Then the match sucked and he lost.

Any time a wrestler is already in the ring without entrance music.

Both Shawn and Cena have come down the ramp with "that look" on their face when they know they're about to do a job.
Sheamus walked into WM 28 with such a huge grin on his face that my friend and I both turned to each other and revised our opinions that Bryan would walk out with the title.

not a wrestler per say but Heenan gave away the Hogan heel turn at Bash at the Beach I've always thought that was just Heenan not trusting Hogan because he always hated him.

Agreed completely - traditionally in wrestling, announcers give away things when they say the opposite of what is actually going to happen. Whenever a guy hits a move and the announcer starts saying, "well that's it ladies and gentleman, we're about to have a new champion" - you know the guy's kicking out. And announcers are often put in the position of having to pretend they're simpletons....they're always shocked by a heel turn even if its been foreshadowed for months and even where the fans see it coming. The Heenan comment is actually the only one I can think of in wrestling history where an announcer correctly anticipated a "sudden" heel turn/big moment.

There used to be a wrestling blogger/commentator who thought he could predict who was winning every match based on the way the guy was walking out to the ring. It became a running joke that he was wrong more than half the time.

although i was 5 at the time and it was still real to me (damnit) HBK's zipline entrance at mania 12 pretty much gave the match away didn't it?

Ah yes, about twenty seconds before he stunk out the joint and ruined Mania's main event because he 'wasn't going to win!' And don't start with that it was The Miz or The Rock, Cena was the veteran in control of the match. It's on him.

This is the reason I've always wondered if wrestlers are working people to an extent whenever they cry after winning a title, or say it's the greatest moment of their life or whatever. Really? You've known for days you were winning the title and I'm sure Christian Bale doesn't credit defeating the Joker as one of the defining moments of his life. until it happens, it hasn't happened though. Something could happen to your opponent, or to you, something could make the event be cancelled, someone could pull strings...

Yeah, it was a massive disaster, but it wasn't anyone's fault. The two have had good matches together.
